  • the cover member 10 and the blade holding portion 2 of the body member are similar in the shape and have grooves 3 and 11 extending lengthwise respectively.
  • the blade holding portion 2 has a cut away portion 7 along the top edge thereof as shown in FIG. 3 and a guide surface 8 is formed thereon with a V-shaped groove 9 extending therealong.
  • the blade holding portion 2 is further provided with a recess 6 below said groove 3 for retaining a leaf spring 5 therein.
  • Said groove 3 is provided with an internally threaded tubular member 4-fixed thereto at a predetermined position.
  • the lower part of the blade holding portion 2 has a blade mount portion 23 for interposing a blade 22 with the blade mount portion 23' formed on the cover member 10.
  • the cover member 10 also has a cut away portion 14 along the top edge thereof as shown in FIG. 2 and guide surface 15 is formed thereon with a V- shaped groove 16 extending therealong just like the blade holding portion 2 of the body member.
  • Said groove 11 is provided with two tubular members 12 and 13 fixed thereto at predetermined portions interposing said tubular member 4 therebetween when the cover member 10 is mounted to the blade holding portion 2 of the body member.
  • a projection 20 is provided on one end of the tubular portion 13 for insertion into a corresponding hole 3a.
  • the V-shaped grooves 9 and 16 form a tapered dove tail guide rail between the blade holding portion 2 and the cover member 10.
  • the slider 17 is provided with a wave shaped top surface 24 for facilitating the sliding movement thereof with a finger.
  • the slider 24 provided on the bottom thereof with a dove-tail slider foot 18 having tapered side edges as shown in FIGS. 4 to 6.
  • the said dove tail guide rail formed by the V-shaped grooves 9 and 16 is so tapered for example that the width thereof is smaller on the front side than the rear side thereof so that the blade interposed between the blade mount portions 23, 23' may be more tightly interposed thereby when the slider 17 is slided forward along the guide rail in the cut away portions 7 and 14, and vice versa.
  • the reference numeral 21 indicates a hole for insertion of a projection of an interchangeable blade supply case when the blade is interchanged or a new blade is loaded into the razor. This hole 21 can also be used for inserting and removing said screw 3b for assemblying and disassemblying of the razor.
  • the reference numeral 25 shows a leg portion of the slider 17 having the slider foot 18 at the end thereof and sliding in the guide rail 26 between the guide surfaces 8 and 15.
  • the blade 22 interposed between the blade mount portions 23, 23 is tightly held therein by means of the locking operation of said slider 17 pushed forward and fixed there to keep the blade interposed.
  • the slider 17 is slided backward so that the blade mount portions 23, 23 are separated from each other by means of the leaf spring 5 to release the blade 22.
  • the blade 22 slips out of the razor.
  • the projection of a blade supply case (not shown) is inserted into the hole 21 and a new blade is pushed into the space between the blade mount portions 23, 23 of the razor.
  • the slider 17 is slid forward to tightly interpose the blade between the portions 23, 23' by moving inward the cover 10 against the spring force of the leaf spring 5.
  • the new blade is loaded into the razor and fixed therein.
  • a blade interchangeable type razor comprising a body member having of a handle and a blade holding portion, a cover member hinged to said blade holding portion by means of a hinge provided between said blade holding portion and said cover member and extending lengthwise, said hinge extending between the top portion of said cover and lower portion for holding a blade therebetween, a guide rail being provided between the cover member and the holding portion along the top edge thereof, a slider slidably mounted in said guide rail, said guide rail being tapered so that the cover member may be rotated about said hinge as said slider moves along said guide rail, and spring means provided for urging said cover member toward the position for releasing a blade caught in said catching portion.
  • a blade interchangeable type razor as claimed in claim 1 wherein said hinge comprises grooves provided on the internal surface of said cover member and said blade holding portion, tubular members fixed to said grooves at least one of which is on one side and at least one is on the other side, and means for positioning and mounting the cover member on the blade holding portion.
  • a blade interchangeable type razor as claimed in claim 1 wherein said guide rail is formed with opposing V-shaped grooves formed in said cover member and said blade holding portion respectively, and said slider has a dove-tail shaped slider foot for sliding along said guide rail.
  • a blade interchangeable type razor as claimed in claim 1 wherein a hole for insertion of a projection of a blade supply case is formed at the top end of the razor.
  • a blade interchangeable type razor as claimed in claim 6 wherein said hole is formed at the top end of a groove forming a part of said hinge between said 1 cover member and said blade holding portion.
