Figure l of the drawings is a representation of this invention and shows the piece of metal which is backed into the tooth-crown. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a finished tooth. Fig. Fig. 4. is a bottom view ofa jaw-tooth before the ring of metal is soldered to it. Fig. MS a sec tion taken at the dotted line a; as shown on Fig. 4. 1 My invention relates to artificial teeth; and it consists in the combination, with'a porcelain tooth,of platinum plates or pins inserted into the body of the tooth edgewise and vertically at its margins, to which plates or pins a platinum or gold base extending around the cervical border is soldered, as hereinafter set forth.
Serial No. 215,695. (No model.)
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates a porcelain toothcrown, and B designates the small platinum pins orplates, which comprisethe head or body Gand the point or tapering arm D. The arm D is twisted, as shown in Fig. 1, or it may be simply bent at a right angle at the point, the object of the twist or bend being to prevent the withdrawal of the pinsv or plates from the' tooth-crown.
E designates the natural root of a tooth, and F is the platin urn or gold base or border, which is soldered to the platinum or metal pins or plates B.
Having described this invention, what'I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s
