BRAZING-MACHINE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 369,077l dated August 30, 1887.
Application filed May 31, 1887. Serial No. 230,753. (No model.)
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, NATHAN H. ROBERTS, of the city of Indianapolis, county of Marion, and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Brazing- Machines, of which the following is a specification.
My said invention consists in certain improvements upon that class of devices known as brazing-machines,77 whereby such a machine is rendered less expensive in construction and more easy to operate, all as will be hereinafter more particularly described and claimed.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, which are made a part hereof, and on which similar letters of reference indicate similar parts, Figure 1 is a top or plan view of abrazing-machine embodying my said invention; Fig. 2, an under side plan; Fig. 3, a transverse vertical section on the dotted line 3 3 in Fig. l; Fig. 4, a similar view on the dotted line 4 4; Fig. 5, a horizontal sectional view looking downwardly from the dotted line 5 5 in Fig. 3; and Fig. 6, a detail sectional View, on an enlarged scale, on the dotted line 6 6 in Fig. 3.
In said drawings the portions marked A represent the casting, which is the main frame of the machine; B, an overhanging portion carrying the upper screw-clamp; C, said screw-clamp; D, the lower screw-clamp; E, a series of cam-clamps for holding the saw in position, and F the brazing-bars.
The frame A is, generally speaking, of substantially the same formas in other machines for this purpose. It is, however, instead of being made solid, preferably a skeleton,which largely reduces the Weight and expense from that of the solid machines. The transverse portions of this frame A have notches a therein at intervals, in which may be placed keys a These form an adjustable rest for the back of the saw, so that the centerv of the saw can always be brought to the same position. With a Very wide saw these keys are removed and the saw comes against the ange which forms the back of the frame, and with saws of varying widths these keys are placed in the appropriate notches, all as will be readily understood.

The screw-clamps C and D are plain common clamp-bars, as shown, carried, respectively, by the screws C and D. The cam-clamps E are mounted in overhanging portions E', secured to the frame A. Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

In a blazing-machine, the combination of the frame A, the overhanging portion B, the clamps-G and D, the single screws for operating said clamps, and adjustable stops a', arranged in said frame A,whereby the saw-blade may be so adjusted and held in proper position between said clamps that said single set of screws maybe sufficient to operate them,
