SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 364,891, dated June 14-, 1887.
Application filed December 15, 1886. Serial No. 221,696. (Ive model.)
To all whom, it may concern: 7

Figure 1 is a front view of the whole as arranged for use. Fig. 2 is a view of the back of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a front view ofthe bosom detached. Fig. 4 is a rear view showing the water-proof covering and means for attaching the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
In carrying out my inventionv I make use of a kind-of bosom-holder, A B 0, Fig. 1, which performs the double duty of presenting an ornamental exterior similar to the so-called neckscarfs or neckties now in use, and of holding a bosom in place by means of suitable supports at the back of the holder. This ornamental h older is stiffened with pasteboard or other material, and has its front surface covered with silk, or any material that would give to it a neat appearance. It may be ornamented with a bow or other suitable device, and has an opening, described by the letters a d f, Fig. 1, through which the bosom is seen.
The bosom shown at Fig. 3 is much smaller than an ordinary shirt-bosom. It may be made of linen, paper, celluloid, or other suitable material, is made somewhat larger than water-proof material to protect the bosom from sweat. The bosom-holder and the piece h g 11 are joined together near their edges, thereby forming a kind of sheath in which the bosom is held.
The Whole device is held in place close to the shirt-collar by means of an elastic band passing around the neck of the wearer, or by other suitable means.
The bosom shown in Fig. 3 is removedfrom the holder by simply drawing it out at the top from between the front, A B O, and the back piece, 9 h 2'.
Having thus described myinvention, Ielaim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patexit- 1. The combination, with abosom-holder consisting of a front piece having a central opening and an attached back piece covering said opening, of a removable bosom inserted between the two, and a waterproof covering permanently attached over said back piece, substantially as described.
2. The combination, with the ornamented front piece, A B 0, having a central opening, and provided with a back piece, 9 h 6, covering said opening, of a removable bosom, c, inserted between the back and front, and a water-proof covering permanently attached over the back piece, substantially as described.
DAVID S. BRAGDON.
