Description

NrTED STATES ATENT OFFICE.
SIMEON F. EMERSON, OF SEVILLE, OHIO.
IMPROVED CLOTH ES-WRINGING MACHINE.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, SIMEoN F. EMERSON, of Seville, in the county of Medina and State of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in wringing-Machines; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and complete description of' the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 is a view of the under Side.
Like letters refer to like parts.
The points of novelty in this invention consist in the manner of mounting the rollers and the arrangement of devices for attaching the machine to the tub.
A represents a bar of Wood, which is about two inches longer than the rollers B and O. AThe rollers B and C are constructed in the usual form from vulcanized rubber. The roller B has a crank, D, upon the extended shaft for operating the machine.
E F represent springs, made of hard rolled brass or other metal, protected from the action ot' Water. The middle portions of the springs are secured to the ends of the bar A by screws or otherwise. The branch E is about threefourths the diameter of the rollers, shorter GGrepresent slotted grips for fasteningl the machine to the tub. A thumb-screw, e, passes through each of the outer arms of the grip, and each grip is secured to the under side of the ends of the bar A by screws, as seen at H, Fig. 2, the grips thus having a movement from I to I', in order to accommodate them to the curve of any sized tub upon which it may be desirable to use the machine. What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
Mounting the rollers directly upon the tip of the springs E F in the manner specified, in combination with the bar A and adjustable grips G G, the several parts being co nstrncted 4 and arranged substantially as and for the pur-` pose described.
