McNeill AttorneyLinton & Linton ABSTRACT: The present invention relates to a device for apparatus of the type of comb or brush with bellows permitting it to send at least a part of the air pulsed parallel to the axis of the comb or ofthe brush and outside of their body.
DEVICEFOR THE EVACUATION OF AIR FOR APPARATUS OF THE TYPE OF BRUSH OR COMB WITH BELLOWS The present invention has for its object to-provide a device for the evacuation of air for apparatus of the type of brush or comb with bellows offering the maximum efficiency for total suppression or the partial suppression of the perturbation of the current of air which is thus better directed.
For the different kinds of devices generally employed on the brushes or the combs, heated with bellows, which now exist which channel the air to evacuate it perpendicularly or obliquely to the median axis of the comb or of the brush, the device of the present invention is actuated in such manner that it permits at least one part of the filaments of air to follow a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the brush or of the comb. The present invention will be understood by referring to the accompanying drawings which are given as nonlimiting examples in which:
FlG. 1 shows an elevation of a brush with bellows constructed according to the present invention.
FIG. 2 shows an elevation of a comb with bellows constructed according to the present invention.
FIG. 3 shows a view in section of a modification of a brush with bellows limited tothe brush.
FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 are modifications of the embodiments of the above figures which can be applied to a brush or to the comb. Referring to the drawings, and according to one embodiment, l is a hollow comb which is connected to the bellows, not shown, and 2 is a brush whose body 3 is arranged according to the axis of a handlel and is held on the latter by feet 4.
The diameter of the body 3 is smaller than that of the orifice of the handle 1 in such manner that the pulsed air is evacuated parallel to the axis of the body 3 and outside of this latter,
whose posterior part has the form of a pointed arch 5. A
similar effect is obtained in the comb shown in FIG. 2.
The feet 4 can connect definitely the brush or the comb with the bellows (limited on the drawings to the handle 1) or simply to contribute to maintain it in cooperation with the usual device of fixation.
FIG. 3 is a modification in which, the diameter of the body 6 of the brush is equal to that of the orifice 7 or the output of the air, the rear extremity 8 of this body. being suitably profiled in the form of a cone so that the filaments of air contour around the obstacle and then extending parallel to said body as shown by the arrows.
According to FIG. 3 several modifications can be provided.
Thus, on FIG. 4 it is seen that the body 9 of the brush or comb, presents on its rear part a cone 10 whose axis blending with that of said body, is likewise blended with the axis of symmetry of a tail piece 11 having a cruciform cross section. The tail piece 11 can be engaged in the orifice 7 and thus, constitutes an original means for connecting the brush or the comb to the bellows, this connection can be realized in a temporary or permanent manner.
FIG. 5 is a modification of FIG. 4 relating to a body 12 of the brush or of the comb of a polygonal section, the member of deviation of the filaments of air being then in the form of a pyramid l3 and the tail piece 11 of the preceding form, being replaced, for example, by caps 14 situated in the extension of the periphery of the body 12.
FIG. 6 is a modification of FIGS. l and 2 utilizing to mount the cone 15, a tail piece 16 similar to the tail piece 11 of FIG. 4.
It will be understood that the present invention is not limited to the particular mode of the embodiment described and illustrated, but on the contrary, extends to all modifications of form, material and dimension.
Thus, among other modifications, taking into account a suitable determination of the rear extremity of the body of the brush or the comb, said body can have a diameter greater than the diameter of the orifice for the output of pulsed air, and this without changing particularly the result sought for.
Iclaim: l. A device for dressing hair comprising a hollow handle having an opening at one end for the outlet of air pulsating from the interior of said handle, an elongated body, hair dressing elements extending laterally of said body, means attaching said body to said handle with said body extending on the axis of said handle and said body having air channeling means confronting said handle opening said air channeling means including a posterior part, shaped for directing the streams of air from said handle interior out of said device and in a direction generally parallel to the axis of said body.
2. A device for dressing hair as claimed in claim 1 wherein said body has a diameter approximately at least equal to that of said handle opening.
3. A device for dressing hair as claimed in claim 1 wherein said body posterior part is cone shaped.
4. A device for dressing hair as claimed in claim 1 where in said body posterior part has the configuration of a pyramid.
5. A device for dressing hair as claimed in claim 1 wherein said attaching means is a member having cross-shaped cross section.
6. A device for dressing hair as claimed in claim 1 wherein said attaching means consists of members extending longitudinally from said body posterior part.
Claims (6)
