  • increased thickness of the reinforcements 9 provide a depressed area over the remainder surface of the holder plate 1. This depression retains the edge covering strips therein (see FIG. 1).
  • the edge covering strips 10 are held in position by virtue of a clamping action that exists because of its position between holder plate 1 and panels 6 (see FIG. 1). It can be readily seen that the clamping action of screws 5 provide a clamping of the strips 10 that are interposed between the plate 1 and several of the panels 6. Therefore, both the holder plates recessed edges adjacent to the edges of strip 10 and the above defined clamping action provide a snug and secure fit for the edge covering strips 10.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 there are reinforcement sections 9 on one side and other reinforcement sections 9 are on the opposite side of the holder plate 1.
  • This type of holder plate is especially useful in the mounting of panels adjacent the corner of a wall.
  • the holder plate 1 in FIGS. 4 and 5 has the reinforcements '9 on the inner side only of the holder plate 1.
  • the plate can however also be designed so that the reinforcement surfaces 9 are arranged on the inner as Well as the outer side of the holder plate.
  • the holder plate 1 also accommodates an annular dish-like spring 7 which is used in particular for pressing or resiliently urging a layer of insulating material 8 toward the wall.
  • the spacer is preferably shaped so that it has a flat upper or top part 11 to form a circular disk section.
  • Elongated spreader members 12 extend axially and downwardly from the disk and at their lower edges thereof form base sections that are turned outwardly as illustrated in FIG. 6.

  • a construction for covering the facade of a building with facing panels comprising a wall member; an anchor means extending to said wall member; a holder plate spaced from said wall member and secured to said anchor means, said holder plate being adjustably mounted with respect to said wall member; reinforcement means positioned on the edges of said holder plate and a recess in the surface of said holder plate between said reinforcement means; a plurality of panel members normally spaced a slight distance from each other; detachable screw means cooperating with said reinforcement means for securing said panel members to said holder plate; and an edge covering strip retained in said recess for effectively covering said space between said panel members.
