Definitions
- One flange has a circular row of round bores which connect with arcuate elongate holes, whose radial width is less than the diameter of the round bores.
- the other flange carries a circular row of bolts facing the first flange, which are guidable through the elongate holes and terminate in heads which extend through the round bores and when locked the heads rest on the edges of the elongate holes.
- the closure may be hydraulically lowered over the receptacle so that the bolt heads of the one flange are passed through the round bores in the other flange. Subsequently by relative rotation of the closure on the receptacle, the bolts leave the round bores and extend into the circular elongate holes. The heads of the round bolts then lie on the outer side of the flange over the elongate holes. During the pressing operation a force takes effect on the closure device which connects the bolt heads with the corresponding outer side of the flange in force locking.
- the high speed or quick closure is particularly simple in its construction and reliable in operation. In making the closure, great accuracy in size or dimension is not necessary. These advantages are particularly established in the case of larger closure diameters.
- the pressure container may be of lower height.
- the closure flange may have the elongate holes, while the container flange is provided with bolts.
- the container flange may, however, have elongate holes, and the closure flange is provided with bolts.
- the container has a bearing ring of a hard metal with a tapered collar, on which the closure slides upon locking by means of a circular groove.
- the form or mold of elastomeric material which serves for the reception of the pulverulent starting material has an upper flange which with the closed container abuts or lies against a lower surface of the bearing ring.
- the greater the operating pressure upon carrying out the pressing operation the more the upper flange of, this form or moldpresses against the lower surface of the bearing ring and in this way seals the space or chamber in which the pressure fluid is located.
- FIG. 1 shows a side elevation partially in section of the closure and container
- Fit is a top plan view of the closure.
- the crane frame or gantry l and 11 is supported on a base or floor 12, in which a receptacle 22 is embedded.
- the receptacle is positioned over a receiver 31 on a subfloor
- the closure 1 has a peripheral flange provided with a circular row of bores 26, which in clockwise direction viewed from above extend into arcuate elongate holes 19 of smaller radial width.
- the receptacle 2 has a peripheral flange 23 with upstanding bolts 17 with cylindrical heads 16 at their upper ends, whereby thenumber and the arrangement of the bolts 17 correspond to the bores26 and the elongate holes 19.
- the cylindrical bolt heads in is somewhat less than the diameter of the holes 26, and the diameter of the bolts ll is somewhat less than the radial width of the elongate holes 19.
- the length of the bolts is dimcnsioned'in such manner, that in locked condition, the
- the container 2 has on the upper end of the cylindrical housing 22 a bearing ring 29 of a hard metal, which has a circular tapered collar 30.
- the closure 1 is lowered upon the tapered collar 30 and has a circular groove 31, which is wedge-shaped and slidably fits the collar.
- a mold or form 24 is disposed within the chamber 25.
- the mold 24 has an upper flange 28, which bears against a lower surface of the bearing ring 29.
- the closure 1 With the aid of the crane runway is brought to a point above and concentric to the receptacle 2. it is then lowered by the hydraulic cylinder 4 with the bores 26 aligned with the bolts 16 until it is seated with its keyway or groove 31 on the tapered collar 30 of the bearing ring 29. Then follows a rotary movement of the receptacle 2 by means of gear segments 40 and gear racks 41 driven by hydraulic means 42 and 43 relatively to the closure 1 until the bolts 17 have been shifted into the elongate holes 19. The cylindrical bolt heads 16 now lie over the edges of the elongate holes 19.
- a closure for high pressure containers comprising:
- a container having a base provided with a laterally extending flange and housing cylinder thereon with the flange projecting beyond the outer surface of said cylinder;
- a closure having a laterally extending flange generally parallel to said container flange and coextensive therewith, saidclosure resting upon said housing cylinder and rotatable relatively thereto;
- said flanges having a circular row of round bores which connect respectively with circumferentially extending curved elongate holes of radial widths less than the diameters of said bores;
- a closure as claimed in claim 1 comprising a bearing ring on the upper end of said housing cylinder, and an axially outwardly projecting tapered collar on said ring, said closure having a circular groove fitting said collar thereby to center said closure on said housing and afford relative rotational movements between same.
- a closure as claimed in claim 3 comprising an open mouth mold of elastomeric material for the reception of pulverulent starting material disposed within said housing cylinder, and a lateral flange on the mouth of said mold clamped between the outer end of said housing cylinder and the inner face of said bearing ring.
