Cl. 11G-49 4 Claims ABSTRACT F THE DISCLSURE Apparatus for generating heat and at the same time discharging only completely burned products of cornbustion to the atmosphere whereby complete burning of the products of combustion minimizes or even eliminates air pollution and at the same time sharply enhances the ctciency with which heat is generated.
Summary of the invention My apparatus comprises a boiler having a heat exchanger therein and a chimney extending upward therefrom. A rebox having a radiation core therein is disposed below the boiler. A suction device operating in conjunction wtih a plurality of manifolds, feed ducts and discharge jets constituting first means connected between the chimney and the rebox to force incompletely burned products of combustion supplied to the chimney downward to the irebox for further combustion. A plurality of bales and an updraft duct constitute second means which conduct the products of combustion both to the chimney and to the first means whereby the completely burned products are discharged upward through the chimney and the incompletely burned products of combustion are fed downward into the iirebox for further burning.
The net result is that the further burning of the incompletely burned products of combustion reduces fuel consumption and increases the eicency of heat generation while the discharge to the atmosphere of only completely burned products of combustion minimizes or even eliminates air pollution.

Detailed description of preferred embodiment Referring now to FIGS. l-5, a boiler 19 (having a heat exchanger therein) is disposed on top of a iirebox 12 having a radiation core 14 therein, A chimney 16 extends upward from the boiler. The chimney has a plurality of condensing bafiles 18 disposed therein to collect incompletely burned products of combustion. Said first means includes manifolds 20 which surround the chimney and conduct these collected products downwardly via feed ducts 22 to discharge jets 24 in the firebox where these products are burned and the heat is absorbed in the core. Said first means also include suction blowers 26 nited States Patent O ice disposed in the ducts provide the duction to cause this downward ow.
The products of combustion yielded at the rebox are conducted via updraft duct 28 both to the chimney and the manifolds whereby the completely burned products of combustion are discharged to the atmosphere via the chimney and the incompletely burned products are returned or recirculated for further burning.
In operation, the products of combustion travel from the firebox, up the updraft duct and to the chimney. Once there, any incompletely burned products are directed by the bafiles to the manifolds for collection and then pulled back to be reburned by the action of the suction blower drawing the products down through the feed ducts and against the radiation core Where they are reburned and begin the cycle over again.
While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, my protection is to be limited only by the terms of the claims which follow.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. Apparatus for generating heat and discharging only completely burned products of combustion to the atmosphere, said apparatus comprising a boiler having a heat exchanger therein;
a chimney extending upward from said boiler;
a rebox having a radiation core therein and disposed below the boiler;
first means connected between the chimney and the firebox to force incompletely burned products of combustion supplied to the chimney downward to the box and against said radiation core for further combustion; and
second means to conduct the products of combustion yielded by the box both to said chimney and to said rst means whereby the completely burned products are discharged upward through the chimney and the incompletely burned products are fed downward into the rebox for further burning.
2. Apparatus as set forth in claim 1 wherein said second means includes a plurality of baffles disposed therein for collecting incompletely burned products of cornbustion.
3. Apparatus as set forth in claim 2 wherein said rst means includes a plurality of manifolds connected between said bafes and said irebox.
4. Apparatus as set forth in claim 3 wherein said first means includes at least one suction blower.
