This invention relates to applicators and more particularly to an applicator having a self-contained lotion or oil.
It is therefore the main purpose of this invention to provide a disposable lotion filled applicator which prior to use will be packaged so that it is ideal for traveling and also convenient for use at home.
Another object of this invention is to provide a disposable lotion filled applicator which will have the body member made of foam rubber or the like in which the lotion or oil is preimpregnated before sealing the device within its package.
Still another object of this invention is to provide an applicator which is for the purpose of a single application of lotion or oil to the body and requires only grasping the handle and applying the self-contained lotion or oil to all parts of the body and is ideal for use after taking a shower.
Other objects of this invention are to provide an applicator, a disposable lotion filled applicator, which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and eflicient in operation.
These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification together with the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIGURE 1 is a horizontal side view of the present invention shown packaged and in elevation With a portion partly broken away;
FIGURE 2 is a top plan view of the invention shown removed from the package shown in FIGURE 1; and
FIGURE 3 is a bottom plan view of the invention.
According to this invention, a disposable lotion filled applicator is packaged within a transparent package 11 made of plastic or other suitable material. Applicator 10 is provided with an elongated handle 12 having a ice 10 well known manner, and the handle 12 is grasped in the hand of the user and the user places the sponge 14 on the surface of the skin of various parts of the body and with the handle 12 applies the lotion or oil contained within the sponge to the skin of the body.
It will be noted that the applicators 10 are individually packaged and are sanitary and provides for one application of the self-contained lotion or oil, after which the entire unit may be disposed of.
While various changes may be made in the detailed construction, it is understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as is defined by the appended claim:
I claim:
1. A disposable lotion or oil-filled applicator, comprising in combination a lotion impregnated sponge of foam rubber, handle means for holding said sponge, and a transparent case for containing the applicator prior to use, said sponge being pre-filled for packaging within said case with said lotion, and prior to filling said sponge,
rounded end portion of said handle together with a portion of a shank of said handle being adhered to said sponge, said sponge being of cylindrical configuration having parallel flat, circular walls at opposite edges of a cylindrical side wall, said sponge being provided with an angular recess on an upper of said circular sides to receive said rounded end portion and a portion of said shank adjacent said rounded end portion, and a spur formed on said shank adjacent said shank portion, said spur being 0 adhered to said cylindrical side wall of said sponge.
