BROYLES 3,408,617 NTING MEANS FOR SWITCHBOARD METERS AND THE LIKE Filed Jan. 20, 1967 M32 Wayne 5 .Bflog/ea LVVEVTOR 42 11 BY J w MJWYZM AYTORVE Y8 United States Patent Oflice 3,408,617 Patented Oct. 29, 1968 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mounting for meters whereby a meter may be quickly mounted on or removed from a of jack plugs in lieu of the terminal posts to which elec- This invention relates to means for quickly connecting and disconnecting electrical instruments such as meters to and from switchboards and the like.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate the time consuming procedure required for mounting and demounting instruments on and from switchboards by replacing the usual threaded binding posts for the electrical leads with plugs on the rear of the instrument which match up with cooperating sockets more or less permanently fixed to the switchboard.
Other objects and their attendant advantages will become apparent as the following detailed description is read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:

FIG. 3 is a top elevational view of the mounting means of FIG. 2.

From the foregoing description it will be seen that after the small panel member 30 has been properly said opening, and means for connecting the board-carried members to a source of electrical energy, said plug and socket members being constructed and arranged to slidably inter-engage or disengage when said inserted into or removed from said opening, including engaging said sockets.
2. The combination of a switchboard or the like and an electrical instrument, said board having an opening members rigidly fixed to said board, means received on said threaded members and cooperating with said panel member to securesaid memberin a pre selected spaced position with respect to the rear face of said board.
4. The combination of claim 2 including electrical binding posts connected to the rear face of said panel member, each of said posts being connected to one of the panel-carried members.
5. The combination of claim 2 wherein said instrument includes a face flange, at least one positioning element extending rearwardly of said face flange, said board having an opening therein receiving said element to position said instrument against twisting with respect to its opening.
