No. 547,278 Claims priority, application Switzerland, May 3, H65, 6,155/ 65 1 Claim. (Cl. 281-44) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A note sheet dispenser useable in phone booths and the like comprising an elongated open ended casing freely movable upwardly and downwardly on an upright support. The casing has a longitudinal through slot along the side wall. The edges defining the slot are received in corresponding slots on the edges of the upright support for travel upwardly and downwardly thereon. The slots in the upright support or guide extend the full length thereof so that the casing can be readily removed longitudinally and the dispenser charged with note paper in stacked condition. The stack of paper rests on a bracket fixed to the upright and disposed interiorly of the casing in use and dimensioned so that the casing can move freely upwardly and downwardly relative to the bracket while extending into the casing. At least one projection is formed on an upper end of the casing supporting the casing on the stack of note papers so that upon removal of each sheet the casing lowers itself of its own weight resting on the next successive sheet on top of the stack.
The present invention has for object a device for dispensing note or memo sheets to be placed preferably in telephone booths to the right of the telephone, in order to permit the user of the telephone to take down notes and to thereafter take with him the sheet on which the notes are written.
The annexed drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of the dispenser.
FIGURE 1 is a representation in elevation partially in cross-section;
FIGURE 2 is a front elevational view; and
FIGURE 3 is a plan view.
The dispenser comprises a slider support 1 to be fixed vertically flat against the wall of the booth by means of screws passing through holes 4. This slider is formed by a metallic plate the tWo edges of which have a longitudinal slot 2 along the full length thereof.
On this slider support is secured a bracket 11 on which 3,385,612 Patented May 28, 1968 is placed a pile of sheets encased in a sliding casing 5 the side-walls of which 9 each have a wing 10 at right angles, engaged into a respective one of the slots 2. That is one of the side walls has a through longitudinal slot extending the full length of the casing aligned with the bracket 11. The edges defining the slot are each received in the corresponding slots of the support 1 for longitudinal travel upwardly and downwardly.
In its upper parts, the casing, open at both ends, has two projections 7 extending toward the inside and bearing on the upper sheet of a pile or stack 6. The front wall of the casing has at its upper part an index mark and recess 12 to facilitate the taking of the sheet.
The casing goes down solely by its own weight as the pile of sheets decreases.
The user of the telephone can take notes directly on the upper sheet of the pile or can take it out beforehand.
What is claimed is:
1. A note sheet dispenser for use in telephone booths and the like comprising, an elongated open ended tubular casing for containing a stack of note papers disposed vertically therein, at least one projection on an upper end of said casing for resting on a top sheet of said stack of note paper from which the upper sheet may be withdrawn and the casing lowers itself of its own weight resting on the next successive sheet, a support for said stack of note paper and said casing comprising a bracket to support said stack of note paper, an upright portion on said support to which said bracket is secured and having two vertical edge guide slots along the full length thereof, said casing having a side wall having a longitudinal through slot along the full length thereof and having edges of said side wall defining said through slot guided in said guide slots for upward and downward travel therein, and said bracket being disposed interiorly of said casing and extending from said upright portion in a direction so as to be within said casing in use and dimensioned to allow said casing to travel upwardly and downwardly relative to said support, whereby said casing is removably mounted on said upright portion supported on said stack of sheets and is readily removed longitudinally relative to said upright portion for charging said note sheets therein and readily mounted longitudinally on said support when charged.
