RBPRIGERATOB. POR OYSTERS.
No. 336,056. m6611666 Feb. 9, 1666.
WITNESSES l -i -Y 4M/2665 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ALEXIUS T. LUNDQVIST, OF BROOKLYN, NEV YORK.
REFRIGERATOR FOR OYSTERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 336,056l dated February 9, 1886.
Application tiled September 25, 1885.
To aZZ whom/ it muy concern,.-
Be it known that I, ALEXTUs T. LUNDQvrsT, of Brooklyn, in the county ot Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Refrigerator for Oysters, &c., of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved refrigerator for keeping oysters, clams, &c., cool and fresh, which refrigerator is so constructed that the drip-water is immediately carried off.
The invention consists in the construction ofparts and details, as will be fully described and set forth l1ereinafter,and then pointed out in the claim.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both the figures.
Figure 1 is a cross-sectional elevation of my improved refrigerator for oysters, &c. Fig. 2 is aplan view ofthe same.
On the corners of the base A the standards B are secured, and on lthe said standards the four wirenctting sides O are secured, of which one or all may be hinged, as may be desired. The oor D ofthe refrigerator is secured on the base, is inclined from the sides of the base downward toward the center of the base, and is provided with a series of apertures at the center, through which the drip-water can flow into a pocket or funnel, E, secured to the under side of the door D, at the central part Serial No. 179,159. (No model.)
of the same. A tube, F, extends from the funnel or pocket E to and through thc side of the base, which tube serves for carrying off the drip-water.
A groove, G, is formed in the outside ofthe base A, directly below the bottom edges of the sides C, and from the said groove tnbesH extend from the corners ofthe base to the tube F. The groove G collects the water flowing down on the outside ofthe base, and the tubes H conduct it to the tube F.
Angular standards J are secured on the door D, at the central portion, and between said anglepieces cages K are placed for receiving and holding the ice, the oysters, Src., being packed around the cage K.
Having thus described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A refrigerator for oysters, &c., consisting of a wire-netting casing or frame placed on a base provided witha groove, an interior wirenetting frame resting on the floor formed on the base, which floor is provided below the inner frame with a funnel, atube for conducting the water from said funnel, and tubes for conducting the water from the grooves iu the base to the tube that conducts the water from the funnel, substantially as herein shown and described.
ALEXIUS T. LUNDQVIST.
