Description
July 18, 1967 R. c. LANGE 3,331,515
GONDIMENT HOLDER Filed June 5, 1965 Raymond C. Lange United States Patent 3,331,515 CONDINLENT HOLDER Raymond C. Lange, 275 W. Jackson St., Cedarburg, Wis. 53012 Filed June 3, 1965, Ser. No. 461,078 1 Claim. (Cl. 211-77) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A condiment holder which includes a rotatable member that maintains the condiments in a uniform manner, and wherein the device can be manually turned to permit a desired condiment to be conveniently brought into position ready for use or access thereto.
This invention relates to table devices for holding condiments, and more particularly to a rotatable holder for condiments.
It is therefore the main purpose of this invention to provide a condiment holder which will keep the condiments in a uniform fashion and will be rotatable manually thus making a desired condiment readily available for use.
Another object of this invention is to provide a condiment holder which will have an upper disc with openings for receiving the containers of salt, pepper, etc., and the disc will have L-shaped brackets which support a flat ring forming a shelf for other condiment containers.
Another object of this invention is to provide a condiment holder which will have posts and rail means on the secondary shelf formed by the ring to prevent the containers of condiments upon the shelf from falling therefrom when rotating the disc attached thereto by the brackets of L-shape.
Another object of this invention is to provide a condiment holder which will have rubber feet on the base member thus preventing it from rotating when rotating a disc above the base member.
Still another object of this invention is to provide a holder which will have a battery powered light in an extension tube extending above the rotatable disc having a battery and switch operated light which will serve to give the Waiter indication that the party at the table wishes to be served, or wishes to receive their check.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a consideration of the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein a satisfactory embodiment of the invention is shown. However, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the details disclosed but includes all such variations and modifications as fall within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claims.
In the drawing:
FIGURE 1 is a side view of this invention shown partly broken away.
FIGURE 2 is a top plan view of FIGURE 1.
FIGURE 3 is a schematic wiring diagram for this invention.
FIGURE 4 is a fragmentary side view of the invention shown in section.
According to this invention, a condiment holder is 3,331,515 Patented July 18, 1967 provided with a hollow circular base 11 made of any suitable material having rubber feet 12 spaced apart on the underside of base 11. The rubber feet serve to prevent movement of base 11 when rotating the upper portion of holder 10. A flanged bushing 13 which is hollow is received through the center of base 11 and the flange 13 serves as a bearing against the top of the base 11. The bushing 13 is provided with a tubular extension 14, the top of which contains a lamp bulb 15 and a switch 16 which are wired in series with a battery 17 which is contained within the hollow portion of base 11. The flange 13' of bushing 13 is received within the recessed area of rotatable disc 18 and thus supports disc 18 above base 11 to allow for freedom of rotation thereof. A plurality of spaced apart openings 19 in disc 18 provides well means for receiving condiment containers 20. A circular ring 21 is secured to L-shaped brackets 22 which are spaced apart around the outer periphery of rotatable disc 18 and provides shelf means for a plurality of condiment containers 20 and when rotatable disc 18 is rotated ring 21 forming a shelf is simultaneously rotated. Ring 21 is provided with a plurality of spaced apart posts 23 which receives a continuous wire rail 24 which serves as a fence to prevent the containers of condiments 20 from sliding from ring 21 when it is rotated.
What I new claim is:
In a condiments container holder, a hollow circular base, a plurality of spaced apart feet on the underside of said base, a bushing mounted in the center of said base, and said bushing being provided with a flange, said bushing being provided with a tubular extension, a lamp bulb and switch in the top of said extension, a battery being positioned in the hollow portion of said base and electrically connected to said bulb and switch; a rotatable disc having a recessed area for receiving the flange of said bushing whereby the disc is rotatably supported above the said base, said disc having a plurality of spaced apart openings therein, and said openings providing well means for receiving condiment containers, L-shaped brackets spaced around the outer periphery of said disc, a circular ring secured to said brackets, said ring being provided with a plurality of spaced apart posts that receive a continuous rail that provides and serves as a fence to prevent the containers of condiments from sliding from the ring when the ring is rotated.
