Be it known that I, HENRY B. WEINSTOOK, of Fall Creek, Eau Claire county, WVisconsin, have invented a new and Improved Vehicle- Wheel, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved vehicle-wheel, which is simple in construction, strong, and durable.

The invention consists in the combination, with a thimble having pockets at its rear end, of a ring held by splines or keys on the front end of the thimble, and of bolts passed through the ring and held in recessed lugs on the thimble.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a cross-sectional elevation of my improved vehicle-wheel, parts being broken out. Fig. 2 is a front view of the front ring. Fig. 3 is a front end view of the tapered thimble and front ring on the same.

The tapered hub-thimble A is provided at its front and rear ends with the sandguard flanges B and C, respectively, and on the front end of the thimble tapered longitudinal splines D are cast on the same, and between the same longitudinal grooves E are formed on the outer surface of the thimble, to make it as light as possible. At the 7 provided with three longitudinal grooves, K, in its inner side, for receiving the splines or keys D on the thimble. The ring J is provided with as many pockets L as there are pockets G on the thimble, the pockets being open toward the rear, and having pins M. The-pockets are connected by webs N. The inner ends of the rear spokes, O, are placed in the pockets G, the pins H passing into the outer faces of the said spokes, and the inner ends of the front spokes, P, are placed in the pockets L, the pins M passing into the outer edges of the said spokes. The outer ends of the spokes O P are mortised in the wide felly Q, around which the tire R is passed. Bolts S have their heads passed into the recesses of the lugs F, and the bolts are passed through apertures in the webs N, nuts T being secured in the outer ends of the said bolts.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. The combination, with the thimble A, having the pockets G at the rear end, the recessed lugs F, and the splines D, of the ring J, having grooves K and pockets L, and of the bolts S and nuts T, substantially as herein shown and described.
