(Cl. 36--73) This invention relates to shoe coverings and more particularly to a protective covering for shoes.

It is therefore the main purpose of this invention to provide foot wear protectors which will be of such construction so as to fit the heel area of a shoe while a second member is of such construction to be worn on the toe area of the shoe without detracting from the appearance of the shoe.

Another object of this invention is to provide foot wear protectors which will be made of transparent plastic or other suitable material in order that the decorative design of the shoe will be seen through the protectors.

Still another object of this invention is to provide foot wear protectors that will be of such construction so as to be applied to mens shoes.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from a consideration of the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein a satisfactory embodiment of the invention is shown. However, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the details disclosed but includes all such variations and modifications as fall within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claim.

According to this invention, a foot wear protector 10 is provided with a clear transparent plastic panel 11 having an opening 12 and an opening 13. An elongated strap 14 is secured around the upper extremity of panel 11 and is provided with snap fasteners 15 to secure the protector 10 to the heel of a high heeled shoe. Looking now at FIGURES 3. and 4, one will see a modified form of protector 16 having a panel 17 and a frontal opening 18 and a lower opening 19. A strap 20 is secured to the upper extremity of panel 17 and is provided with snap fasteners 21 to secure protector 16 to flat heeled womens oxfords or flat shoes.

Looking now at FIGURES 5 and 6 one will see the foot wear protector 22 having a panel 23 with a frontal opening 24. A strap 25 is secured to the forward edge of panel 23 and extends below the lower extremity of panel 23 while a strap 26 is secured around the upper extremity of panel 23 which is designed to extend over the instep of the foot in the same manner as those heretofore described. Protector 22 is of such construction so as to fit a mans shoe.

As shown in FIGURES 7, 8 and 9 of the drawings the foot protector 27 is provided with a top panel 28 which is secured to a sole 29 and top panel 28 is provided with a heel extension piece 30. A strap 31 is secured to panel 28 and heel piece 30 at their upper extremities and a shorter strap 32 secured to the other side of heel piece 30 and they are provided with

33 and 33 which provide -a means of securing foot wear protector 27 to a shoe.

Looking now at FIGURE 11 of the drawings, a foot wear protector 34 ieprovided with a top panel 35 having an extension for the heel 36 which is provided with a strap 37 which extends around the heel and snap fasteners 38 provides a means of securing protector 34 to the shoes.

Looking now at FIGURES 12 and 13, one will see a foot wear protector 39 having a top panel 40 with a sole member 41 and an extension 42 of panel 40 to which is attached a strap 43 and a strap 44 on the ends which are provided with

45 and 45 for securement purposes.

Looking now at FIGURES 14 and 15 of the drawing, one will see a shoe protector 46 having a top panel 47 and a sole 48 and a pair of straps 49 being integral with panel 47 and thus the straps 49 provide a means of securing protector 46 to a shoe.

Looking now at FIGURES 16 and 17 of the drawings one will see a foot wear protector 50 for mens shoes which is provided with a top panel 51 having a rear extension 51' on each wing thereof. Protector 50 is provided with a sole 52 and is open in the heel portion and a strap 53 extends around the heel of the shoe and is secured by means of a snap fastener 54.

It will be noted that the heretofore described protectors for men, women and children are cut and shaped to model the style of shoe and the straps are of such construction so as to fasten around the angle, crossing in the back, and snapping or buckling to the outside of the angle.

To place one on the shoe, the shoe is slipped into the toe portion and pulled up and then is snapped or buckled to the outside of the ankle.

It will also be noted that notches 55 as shown in FIGURES 12 and 15 will allow the top panels heretofore described to fit snugger to the side of the foot.

What I now claim is:
