[Also in Division H2] A suspension device for perforated sheet metal cable troughing 9 comprises a supporting and fixing plate 1 over which cross two metal tapes 2, 3, each having a row of holes along its entire length. Members 8 have hooked ends which engage in slots in the side walls of the troughing and they are fastened to the ends of tape 3 by bolts which pass through holes in the tape and through adjustment slots 8<SP>1</SP> in the members. The ends of tape 2 are passed through slots in the bottom of the troughing and through slots in a crossbeam 10 underneath. A transverse pin 11 is pushed through a hole in each end of tape 2 and bears against the underside of the crossbeam, being retained longitudinally by sidewalls 12. Transverse stop pins 13 lie beside the lateral ends of tape 2. Two sections of troughing may be joined together by clasps 14 passing through slots in the troughing and in the crossbeam (Fig. 3). Arrangements of slots in the troughing at a T-junction and at. a bend are also described (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown).

(Cl. 248-327) The present invention relates to a suspension device for cable troughing of perforated sheet metal.
Hitherto such cable troughing was suspended on metal tapes the upper ends of which were fixed for instance to a ceiling of a building and the other ends of which were fixed by bolt and nut to the side wall of the troughing.
In contrast to that, the suspension device according to the invention is provided with a supporting and fixing plate and two metal tapes crossing each other over the said plate, the tapes having a series of holes along their entire length, whereby at the ends of a first tape, running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the cable troughing, hooks adjustable with respect to the tape are fitted for engaging in perforations in the side walls of the troughing, and the ends of the second tape that runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the troughing pass through perforations in the bottom of the troughing, a transverse pin being pushed into one of the holes in this tape, which pin lies against a crossbeam arrange under the cable troughing, and stops are provided on the crossbeam at both sides of the ends of this tape.
One embodiment of this invention is illustrated in the drawing, where:

According to FIG. 1 to 3 the suspension device has a supporting and fixing plate 1, over which two metal tapes 2 and 3 cross each other. The plate 1 has a hole in the middle, through which can be passed a fixing bolt for the suspension device. The bolt passes through a hole in each of the tapes 2 and 3 at the place where they cross.
The two tapes 2 and 3 are provided with a series of holes 4 and 5 respectively in their longitudinal direction.
At the ends of the tape 3, hooks 8 are fixed by means of bolts 6 and nuts 7, and these hooks 8 engage in perforations in the side wall of the cable troughing 9. Each hook 8 has a portion lying on the end of the tape 3 and provided with an oblong hole 8. Each bolt 6 passes through one of the holes 5 in the tapes 3 and the oblong hole 8 in the hook, so that the latter is adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the tapes.
The tape 2 passes over the plate 1 at right angles to the tape 3 and runs in the longitudinal direction of the cable troughing 9.
The ends of tape 2 are passed through perforations in the bottom of the cable troughing and through slots in a crossbeam 10. Under this crossbeam, through holes 4 in the ends of the tape 2, a transverse pin 11 is pushed, on which the crossbeam rests, carrying the cable troughing 9.
At both sides on its longitudinal edge the crossbeam 10 has ribs 12 which serve as stops to prevent axial displacement of the transverse pin 11.
Between the ribs 12, transverse pins 13 serving as stops are fitted which, when the ends of tape 2 are pushed into 3,226,076 Patented Dec. 28, 1965 perforations in the bottom of the cable troughing and into the slots in the crossbeam 10, lie beside the lateral edges of that tape.
In this manner the cable troughing is held with its bottom horizontal when the hooks 8 at one side of the troughing are detached to allow cables to be inserted laterally.
Preferably the middle longitudinal row of perforations in the bottom of the cable troughing will be situated in its middle longitudinal axis.
Places where two successive portions of cable troughing meet are arranged on a crossbeam, whereby clasps 14, inserted into slots in the crossbeam and in perforations in the bottom of the cable troughing, hold the adjoining ends of the two portions of cable troughing together.
The T-piece according to FIG. 4 and the arc-shaped piece according to FIG. 5 are intended for a cable troughing whose bottom has five perforations in each transverse row of perforations, instead of the seven perforations in each row in the case of the troughing according to FIG. 1 to 3. The number of perforations in each row depends on the width of the cable troughing.
In the case of the arc-shaped piece according to FIG. 5, a row of perforations 15 is arranged radially in the middle of the arc. Into one of these perforations a peg or the like may be inserted in order to keep the cables in the corresponding bend when being laid in.
Along with the described suspension device the cable troughing may also be laid here and there on brackets which are fitted on the ceiling or on a wall of a cable shaft. These brackets are then preferably provided at their contact surface with openings corresponding to the perforations in the troughing. Clasps, corresponding to the clasps 14, then allow the cable troughing to be fixed onto the brackets.
What I claim is:
1. A suspension device for cable troughing of perforated sheet metal comprising a supporting and fixing plate, two metal tapes that cross each other over the said plate, series of holes in said tapes along their entire length, hooks at the ends of a first of said tapes and arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the cable troughing, said hooks being adjustable with respect to the tape and cooperating with perforations in the side walls of the troughing, the ends of the second of said tapes running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the troughing traversing perforations in the bottom of the troughing, a cross pin in one pair of the holes in this tape, a crossbeam arranged under the cable troughing and supported by said cross beam and stops provided on the crossbeam at both sides of the ends of said pin.

A suspension device for cable troughing of perforated sheet metal comprising a supporting and fixing plate, two metal tapes that cross each other over the said plate, series of holes in said tapes along their entire length, hooks at the ends of a first of said tapes and arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the cable troughing, said hooks being adjustable with respect to the tape and cooperating with perforations in the side walls of the troughing, the ends of the second of said tapes running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the troughing traversing perforations in the bottom of the troughing, a cross pin in one pair of the holes in this tape, a crossbeam arranged under the cable troughing and supported by said crossbeam and stops provided on the crossbeam at both sides of the ends of said pin, said hooks having a portion lying on the tape and provided with an oblong hole and a bolt and nut, the bolt passing through the oblong hole and a hole in the tape to clamp said portion firmly to said tape.

Claims (1)

1. A SUSPENSION DEVICE FOR CABLE TROUGHING OF PERFORATED SHEET METAL COMPRISING A SUPPORTING AND FIXING PLATE, TWO METAL TAPES THAT CROSS EACH OTHER OVER THE SAID PLATE, SERIES OF HOLES IN SAID TAPES ALONG THEIR ENTIRE LENGTH, HOOKS AT THE ENDS OF A FIRST OF SAID TAPES AND ARRANGED TRANSVERSELY TO THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION OF THE CABLE TROUGHING, SAID HOOKS BEING ADJUSTABLE WITH RESPECT TO THE TAPE AND COOPERATING WITH PERFORATIONS IN THE SIDE WALLS OF THE TROUGHING, THE ENDS OF THE SECOND OF SAID TAPES RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION OF THE TROUGHING TRAVERSING PERFORATIONS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TROUGHING, A CROSS PIN IN ONE PAIR OF THE HOLES IN THIS TAPE, A CROSSBEAM ARRANGED UNDER THE CABLE TROUGHING AND SUPPORTED BY SAID CROSS BEAM AND STOPS PROVIDED ON THE CROSSBEAM AT BOTH SIDES OF THE ENDS OF SAID PIN.
