UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDUARD KI TRSCHNER, OF LIEGNITZ, SILESIA, PRUSSIA, GERMANY, ASSIGNOR TO CARL GUSTAV SGHWABE, OF SAME PLACE.
PHOTOGRAPH-EXH l BITO R.
:SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent NO. 322,111, dated July 14, 1885.
Application filed February 8, 1884. (No model.) Patented in Germany June 22, 188i, No. 20,798, and in Austria-Hungary February 15, 1883, No. 139 and No. 5,583.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDUARD KiiRsoHNER, a subject of the King of Prussia, residing in Liegnitz, Silesia, in the Kingdom of Prussia, 5 Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Photograph-Exhibitors, (for which Letters Patent have been granted in Germany, dated June 22, 1882, No. 20,798, and inv Austria-Hungary, dated February 15, 1883, I N0. 139 and No. 5,583,) of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to the well-known revolving photograph exhibitors or albums, consisting of a rotating case with two compart- 1 ments containing the boards or passe-partouts to which the photographs are attached. By turning the case the photographs come in continuous circulation, so that they appear one after the other at the front glasses of the case.
The object of my invention is now to provide these revolving photograph -exhibitors with photograph-holders more durable, light, and convenient than the hitherto-used boards or passepartouts, which are made entirely of paper.
Referring to the accompanying drawings. Figure 1 shows a vertical cross-section, and Fig. 2 shows a front view, of one of these wellknown revolving photograph-exhibitors. The
remaining figures represent my photographholder, Fig. 3 in front View, Fig. 4 in vertical cross-section in enlarged scale, and Fig. 5 is a longitudinal end view of the same.
5 Between the lateral rods b I) extend transversely and secured thereto several very thin and narrow laths, a. The rods 12 and the lathe a are made of very light wood. These laths a are arranged in such distance from one another that a certain size ofphotographs may be 0 included between the laths. I put then strips 0 of thin sheet metal through the laths a, which are bent down over the edges of the photo graphs to secure the same to the laths. Between two neighboring photographs may also be arranged on the lath a a button, d, holding down at the same time the edges of two photographs.
To both sides of the photograph-holder A are secured photographs of the same or of dif- 5o ferent sizes.
The two front glasses, B and O, of the re volving case are coated with untrans parent color in such way that only the photographs rest visible; but the edges with the strips 0 and the button d are covered by the coating as shown by Fig. 2.
r I claim as my invention-- In combination with a revolving ph0tograph-exhibitor, the holder consisting of the rods b b, with transversal laths a, the strips of sheet metal 0, and the button d.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EDUARD Kt'IEsoHNEn.
