(Cl. 22-147) This invention relates to a bottom ring, wiper strip, and attaching clip combination for use with hot tops of the reusable composite type.
Hot tops are employed in conjunction with the open upper ends of ingot molds in the pouring of molten metal, such as steel, into the molds in the production of ingots. 'Ihe molds are filled with the molten metal and a sulhcient volume of the latter is provided in the hot tops for the purpose of feeding the piping tendency or shrinkage of the solidifying metal, all as is well understood in the art.
Various types of hot tops are used for this purpose; at the present time a type widely used is the reusable composite floating hot top. The reusable composite floating type of hot top consists of a metal casing having a refractory lining and in use the lower end of the casing extends into the upper end of the ingot mold and when the molten metal in the mold and hot top starts to solidify the hot top is free to move relative to the mold, all as is well understood in the art.
It is necessary in use of this type of hot top to mount on the lower end thereof a refractory single use bottom ring to protect the lower end of the hot top casing and the refractory lining thereof and provide a means of partin the hot top from the ingot following solidification of the ingot. Also in the use of this type of hot top it is customary to employ Wiper strips which have a portion extending between the bottom ring and the lower end of the casing and an angular or flared lip portion projecting beyond the peripheries of the casing and bottom ring to engage the inner wall of the ingot mold for a purpose well understood in the art.
The refractory bottom ring and wiper strip are positioned on the lower end of the hot top casing when the latter is in an inverted position during the preparation thereof for a pouring operation. The bottom ring and wiper strip are secured to the casing by means of separate attaching clips usually formed of wire and well known in the art.
Ordinarily the bottom rings, wiper strips and attaching clips are separately applied to the lower end of the hot top casings and this results in a time-consuming operation. In addition, the separate application of the bottom rings, wiper strips and attaching clips inherently provides the danger that one or more of these elements may be improperly positioned so as not to function efficiently during the pouring operation.
The present invention contemplates a bottom ring, wiper strip, attaching clip combination applicable to the hot top as a unit and wherein the elements of the combination are properly positioned relative to each other and to the hot top.
More specifically the invention contemplates such a combination wherein the wiper strip is integrated with the refractory bottom ring and has a portion covering the periphery of the ring and another portion extending beneath the bottom of the ring while the attaching clips are swingably connected to the wiper strip so as to be movable relative to the strip and ring from an inoperative shipping and storing position to an operative raised position when the combination is secured to a hot top.
In accordance with the invention the attaching clips can be connected to various portions of the wiper strip, both dfihfihl Patented Get. 8, 1963 2 in the inoperative position and in the operative position, and in the latter position may extend vertically externally of the outer side of the wiper strip or intermediate the wiper strip and the ring.
In the preferred embodiment of the invention the attaching clips when in the inoperative position are carried by that portion of the wiper strip which extends beneath the bottom ring and when in the operative position the attaching clips extend intermediate the Wiper strip and the periphery of the ring.
In another embodiment of the invention the attaching clips when in the inoperative position are carried by that portion of the wiper strip which overlies the periphery of the ring and in their operative position they extend upwardly of the outer side of said portion of the wiper strip.
An object of the invention is to provide an improved and novel bottom ring, wiper strip, attaching clip unit combination for use with a reusable composite floating type hot top which simplifies the application of these elements to a hot top and results in the same being correlated in proper relationship relative to each other and to the hot top and in a manner such as to reduce the likelihood of these elements becoming separated from each other or from the hot top casing during the use of the hot top.
A further object is to provide a bottom ring, wiper strip, attaching clip unit combination which avoids the necessity of separately packaging, shipping, storing, handling and applying the elements of the combination and thus effects economies in shipping, storage and handling costs.
A further object of the invention in one or its aspects is to provide a combination such as referred to above wherein the necessity is eliminated of providing in the flared mold engaging lip portion of the Wiper strip slots for the attaching clips to extend through when in their operative position, thus reducing openings in the wiper strip through which molten metal might flow during the pouring operation.
A still further object is to provide a combination of the character referred to which is such that the Wiper strip element of the combination may be fluted or planar, particularly in the portion thereof overlying the periphery of the ring and the shape of the Wiper strip would not effect the proper functioning of the attaching clips.
A still further object as to one aspect of the invention is to provide a ring, wiper strip, attaching clip unit combination wherein the wiper strip prevents accidental detachment of the clips therefrom during use of the hot top, since the clips extend between the wiper strip and the periphery of the ring and this also enables the clearance space between the periphery of the casing and ring and the inner wall of the mold to be kept to a minimum.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a bottom ring, wiper strip, attaching clip unit combination such that the bottom ring and wiper strip are more positively and securely attached to the hot top casing by the attaching clips.
Further objects and advantages present or inherent in the invention not specifically referred to hereinbefore will become apparent during the detailed description of several embodiments of the invention which is to follow and which embodiments are illustrated in the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification and wherein,

The embodiment of the inventive combination which is at present deemed to be the preferred embodiment is shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 inclusive and will now be described.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 3, the metal casing of a reusable composite floating type of hot top is indicated at 15. As known in the art this casing may be of dilferent configuration depending upon the shape of the mold it is used with and the casing is lined with a suitable refractory lining 16 as will be well understood. The bottom ring, wiper, and attaching clip combination of this embodiment of the invention comprises a refractory bottom ring, a sheet metal wiper strip and attaching clips indicated generally at 17, 1'8 and 19.
The refractory bottom ring 17 is largely of conventional construction, with the exceptions hereinafter pointed out, and has a portion 17a which underlies and engages the lower end of the casing 15 and a rib portion 17b which extends upwardly inside of the lip at the lower end of the casing 15 and underlies the refractory lining v16.
The bottom ring 17 may have its periphery of planar form or it may be of fluted form as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. The periphery of the bottom ring 17 is provided with recesses or slots 20 and 21 extending vertically of the periphery of the bottom ring and spaced apart. Although only a single pair of the recesses or slots 20 and 21 is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it will be understood that multiple pairs of the same may be provided on each sideof the bottom ring and also that each side of the bottom ring will have at least one pair thereof to cooperate with an attaching clip 19. In some instances later referred to the slots or recesses 29 and 21 may be omitted from the periphery of the bottom ring.
In the bottom ring, wiper, .clip combination embodying the invention it is proposed to utilize integrated bottom ring and wiper strip elements in a manner similar to that in which said elements are shown and described in the copending application of Urrnetz and Carpenter, Serial No. 62,757, now U.S. Patent No. 3,058,182, filed October 14, 1960, and which is a continuation-in-part of their application Serial No. 815,852, now abandoned, filed May 26, 1959.
In FIGS. 1 to 3 inclusive the wiper strip 18 is formed of united separate lengths having a telescopic relationship to and being integrated with the bottom ring 17 to constitute a unit therewith.
The portion of the wiper strip 18 underlies and engages the lower face of the bottom ring 17 and is in-- tegral with a portion 18b which extends vertically of the periphery of the bottom ring. At the upper end of the portion 18b the wiper strip 18 has the integral flared mold wall engaging lip portion 180. The opposite ends of each separate length of the wiper strip 18 are provided with tabs 22 which have overlapping relationship with the tabs 22 on the adjacent ends of adjacent lengths. The tabs 22 are welded or otherwise secured together so that the assembled and united lengths form the complete wiper strip .18 and cooperating means are provided between the wiper strip 18 and the bottom ring to unite the same together in a unitary assembly, all as is described in detail in said application Serial No. 62,757, now U.S. Patent No. 3,058,182.
As previously stated, the bottom ring 17 may have a fluted or sinuous periphery as shown and consequently the wiper strip 18 is similarly shaped to mate with the configuration of the bottom ring.
In order to provide flexibility to the wiper strip the portion 18a thereof may be provided with cutouts 23, while the flared lip portion 180 is provided with a suitable number of slits 24 preferably spaced so as to be located at the troughs and crests of the flutes.
The construction of the wiper strip 18 as hereinbefore set forth and its integration with the bottom ring 17 are covered in said copending application Serial No. 62,757 and per se form no part of the present invention.
The portion 18a of the wiper strip 18 immediately underlying the slots or recesses 20 in the bottom ring is provided with keeper openings 25' communicating with said slots or recesses. Also the portion 18a of the wiper strip immediately beneath the slots 21 in the bottom ring is provided with pivot openings 26 communicating with said slots. The purpose of the keeper and pivot open-. ings 25 and 26 will shortly become apparent.
The attaching clips 19 are provided at their opposite ends with tines or hook portions 19a and 1%. When the attaching clips are in the inoperative or shipping posi tion the hook portions 18a extend through the keeper openings 25 and into the recesses or slots 20 While the hook portions 1% extend through the pivot openings 26 and into the slots 21 in the bottom ring. When in this inoperative or shipping position the attaching clip is retained on the underside of the portion 18a of the wiper strip for shipping, storage and handling purposes.
When the bottom ring, wiper, clip combination is positioned on the lower end of the hot top casing during the preparation of the hot top for a pouring operation, the operator pulls the hook portions 19a of the attaching clips out of the recesses or slots 20 and through the keeper openings 25 and swings the attaching clips 19 first to position A of FIG. 1 and continues the swinging movement with the attaching clips fulcruming on the edge of the pivot openings 26.
When the attaching clips are in a substantially vertical posit-ion they are pushed longitudinally through the pivot openings 26 of the wiper strip portion 18a and slots 21 of the bottom ring, as indicated at position B in FIG. 1,
until the hook portions 1% of the attaching clips are substantially level with the bushings 27 in the casing 15, whereupon the attaching clips are turned so the portions 1% thereof can be pushed into the bushings and the portions 19a will underlie and be in contact with the portion 18:: of the wiper strip. When in the position last mentioned the attaching clips securely hold the bottom ring and wiper strip to the casing.
It will be noted that the attaching clips when in the operative position last referred to extend between the periphery of the bottom ring 17 and the portion 18b of the wiper strip and hence there is no need to provide slots for the attaching clips in the flared flange or lip portion 180 of the wiper strip. This arrangement is an advantage as the presence of such slots provides for molten metal leakage past the wiper strip during the pouring operation. Also since the attaching clips are behind the portion 18b of the wiper strip the danger of the clips being pulled off the ring is eliminated.
It will further be seen that the elements of the bottom ring, Wiper, clip combination may be assembled by the manufacturer of the same and the combination handled, shipped and stored with the clip elements thereof mounted in the inoperative or full line position of FIG. 1.
It will also be seen that in assembling the elements of thdcomhination the clips can readily be snapped or pushed into the referred to inoperative position on the underside of the combination and they will retain themselves in such position. Then when the combination is applied to a hot top in the preparation of the latter it is handled as a unit and the clip elements are readily moved from their inoperative or shipping position into their operative position and pushed into the bushings 27 of the hot top casing, thus substantially reducing the time required for preparing the hot top for a pouring operation.
The attaching clips shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 inclusive are substantially straight except for a slight angular bend intermediate their end hook portions but when they are in their operative position and the combination is secured to the lower end of the hot top they will exert because of the hook portions and the bend a spring tensioued holding force that maintains the bottom ring in tight engagement with the lower end of the hot top. This is due to the length of the attaching clips and to the curvature of the end hook portions thereof.
It will be noted by reference to FIG. 3 that the lower hook portions 19:; of the clips have a relatively sharp bend and engage the portion 18a of the wiper near the free end of the hook portions. This arrangement provides for adjustability in the length of the attaching clips While still enabling the clips to exert a spring tensioned force holding the ring, strip and clip combination in proper secured position on the lower end of the casing of the hot top.
It is important that the clips have sufficient adjustability as to length to compensate for variations in disstance between the pivot openings 21 and the bushings 27 in the casing of the hot top and still provide for easy attachment of the ring, wiper, and clip combination to the casing. These variations in distance may be due to a number of reasons as, for instance, the manufacturing irregularities in the location of the bushings 27 in the easing, wear of the bushing holes, variations in bottom ring thickness, irregularities in the surface of the lower end of the casing, variations occurring in the assembly of the wiper strip to the bottom ring, and the interposition of makeup grout between the bottom ring and the lower end of the casing preventing the ring from having a flush seat on the casing.
Although the clips should have this required measure of adjustability, the latter should not he so great as to unduly reduce the spring tensioned holding power of the clips in their function of attaching the ring to the casing. The spring tensioned hoiding power of the clips must be suflicient to prevent any separation of the ring, strip,
and clip combination from the lower end of the casing during use of the hot top, and, in addition, it should prevent undesired lateral or side shifting movement of the bottom ring in relation to the casing. There must be proper correlation between the adjustability factor and the holding power factor if the clips are to function efficiently.
In FIG. 3 the hook portions 19a of the attaching clips are shown as engaging the portion 18a of the wiper strip. It may be desirable to have the hook portions at the lower ends of the clips so dimensioned and shaped as to extend beneath but out of contact with the portion 18a of the wiper strip and beyond said portion 18a to directly engage the lower face of the bottom ring.
In FIG. 3a the clips 19 are illustrated as provided at their lower ends with hook portions 190 which do not contact the portion 18a of the wiper but engage directly the bottom ring inwardly of said portion 13a. The arrangement shown in FIG. 3a is advantageous, in that the clips .do not prevent the wiper strip adjacent the junction of the portions 18b and 13a thereof from having a roll out movement toward the wall of the ingot mold when the lip portion of the wiper engages said wall and is flexed upwardly during the insertion of the hot top into the mold.
It will be noted that the portion of the clips illustrated in FIG. 3a provides the requisite adjustability in the clips without destroying their spring tensioned holding power.
Although the clips 19 in the form of the invention shown in FIGS. 1 through 3 are retained in their inoperativeand shipping position by inserting the end portions 19a and 19b oif the clips through the keeper opening 25 and pivot opening 26 and into the slots 2% and 2' it is within the contemplation of the present invention to retain the clips in the inoperative position as indicated in FIG. 4.
In the arrangement of FIG. 4 the keeper openings 25 in the portion 18a of the wiper and the recesses 21 in the ring can be omitted. As indicated in FIG. 4, the clips are inserted through the pivot openings 26 so that the portion of the clips having the hook portions 1% lies between the periphery of the bottom ring 17 and the vertical portion 18b of the wiper. The portion of the clips having the hooks We will extend along the exterior of the wiper adjacent the junction between the portions 18b and 18a thereof, with the hook portions 1% of the clips extending downwardly and exteriorrly of the portion i181), as indicated in FIG. 4.
When the clips 19 are held in the inoperative position as shown in FIG. 4, the ring, strip, clip combination can be shipped and handled as a unit. When it is desired to attach the combination to an inverted hot top the clips are swung in the pivot opening 26 from the full line posi tion of FIG. 4 to the dash line position thereof, and then they are rotated to properly position the hook portions 19b and 190 for engagement in the bushings 27 of the hot top casing and for engagement with the lower face of the bottom ring.
In FIGS. 1 to 4 inclusive the periphery of the bottom ring is shown as provided with the vertical slots 23;. The slots 21 are necessary only when it is desired to have the clips 19 substantially flush with the periphery of the bottom ring when tie clips are in the operative position. It will be understood that the slots 2 in other instances can be omitted and the clips located intermediate the portion 18b of the wiper and the periphery of the ring, it being understood that the inherent flexibility of the wiper enables the clips to be so accommodated.
The clips 19 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 inclusive may be provided intermediate their end hook portions with a slight angular bend if it is desired to provide. an additional increment of adjustability than is provided by the configuration of the hook portions of the clips.
Reference will now be made to FIGS. 7 to 10 inclusive which illustrate a modified form of the invention from that previously described. Insofar as possible the same reference characters will be used in connection with this modified form to indicate those parts which correspond to or are identical with the parts of the previously described form.
In the modified form the bottom ring 17 is substantially the same in construction as the bottom ring previously described but differs therefrom in a manner later to be pointed out. In the modified form the wiper strip telescopically interfits the bottom ring and comprises a flange portion 30 which underlies and contacts the lower face of the bottom ring 17, a vertical portion 31 which engages the outer periphery of the bottom ring and a flared angular mold wall engaging lip portion 32 at the upper end of the vertical portion 31.
The form of wiper strip shown in FIGS. 7 to inclusive and the manner in which it can be assembled on the bottom ring are clearly disclosed in said copending application Serial No. 62,757, now US. Patent No. 3,058,182. It will be understood that the bottom ring and the wiper strip of this form of the invention are integrated and in effect constitute an operative unit. The flared lip portion 32 of the Wiper strip is provided with spaced slots 33 for a purpose later to be explained and in the illustrated form one of the slots 33 is shown on each side of the bottom ring. Also the flared lip portion 32 of the wiper strip may be provided with slits 34 to increase the flexibility of the slip portion, such slits being illustrated as located at the corners of the wiper strip, although there could be additional slits provided for this purpose.
The bottom ring 17 is provided on its periphery with recesses or cavities 35. As illustrated in FIGS. 7 to 10 inclusive there will be one of these recesses 35 on each side of the bottom ring, although this number will vary in accordance with the number of attaching clips that are used in the combination. Spaced from the recesses 35 there are keeper recesses or cavities 36 formed in the periphery of the bottom ring. The recesses 35 underlie the slots 33 in the flared lip portion 32 of the wiper strip.
The wiper strip in the vertical portion 31 thereof and below the flared lip portion 32 is provided with keeper openings 37 which communicate with the recesses 36 in the periphery of the bottom ring. The vertical portion 31 of the wiper strip also is provided with pivot and supporting openings 38 communicating with the recesses 35.
The attaching clips '39 have at their opposite ends hook portions 39a and 39b. The attaching clips 39 are secured to the wiper strip and bottom ring for handling;
shipping and storage purposes by passing the hook portion 39a thereof through the pivot openings 38 until the hook portions are in the recesses 35 and then swinging the attaching clips to align the hook portions 3% thereof with the keeper openings 37, after which the hook portions 3% are pushed through said openings 37 and into the recesses 36 in the bottom ring. In this mannor the attaching clips 39 can be supported upon the side of the vertical portion 3 1 of the wiper strip. Then when the bottom ring, wiper and clip combination is applied to the lower end of a hot top in the preparation of the latter, the hook portions 3% are pulled from the recesses .36 and out of the keeper openings 37 and the attaching clips are swung in the pivot openings 38 to a vertical position wherein the attaching clips 39 pass through the slots 3-3 in the lip portion 32 of the wiper strip and the hook portions 39b of the clip can be pushed into the bushing 27 in the casing 15. At this time the hook portions 3% of the attaching clips contact the upper part of the circumference of the pivot openings 38 in the wiper strip and hence the attaching clips function to support the bottom ring on the lower end of the casing through the portions 31 and 30 of the wiper strip.
There may be instances where it is not desired to pro- 8 wide the wiper strip with the flared lip 32 as, for example, in the case of a hot top having a close fit in the ingot mold.
FIGS. 11 and 12 show the construction shown in FIGS. 7 to 10 inclusive except that the flared lip 32 of the wiper strip is omitted, said FIGS. 11 and 12 corresponding to FIGS. 9 and 10.
The attaching clips 39 shown in FIGS. 7 to 11 inclusive have length vadjustability due to their hooked ends as will be understood and function to retain the ring, wiper and strip combination shown in said figures secured to the hot top casing with a spring tensioned holding force.
In FIGS. 5 and 6 forms of attaching clips are illustrated which can be used advantageously in the combination of FIGS. 7 to 12 inclusive and which provide substantial length adjustability while retaining the proper spring tensioned holding force to maintain the ring, wiper and clip combination firmly and snugly and properly attached to the lower end of the casing.
In FIG. 5 the attaching clip 28 intermediate its hooked ends 28a and 28b is provided with a loop 280 and this loop aflords length adjustability of the clips properly correlated to maintain the requisite spring tensioned holding force of the clips.
The attaching p shown in FIG. 6 is similar to that shown in FIG. 5 except that in place of the loop 280 the attaching clip of FIG. 6 is provided intermediate its hooked end portions with a V-shaped portion 28b.
Although several preferred embodiments of the invention have been illustrated and described herein, it will be understood that the invention is susceptible of various modifications and adaptations within (the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described our invention, we claim:
1. In combination; a hot top bottom ring member having generally horizontal upper and lower faces, a metal wiper strip on said ring member including a first portion underlying the lower face of said ring and a second portion extending upwardly therefrom along the outer pe:
riphery of said member and a wiper lip integral therewith and extending upwardly and outwardly from said second portion, said first and second portions defining a corner portion of said wiper strip, said wiper strip having an opening therethrough at said corner portion, and an attaching clip received in said opening and comprising an elongated portion having hook portions at its opposite ends, said clip having a generally vertical operative position in which said hook portions respectively hook into.
said casing and under said ring and said elongated portion is received in said opening.
2. An assembly comprising; a hot top bottom ring member having generally horizontal upper and lower faces, a wiper strip on said ring member forming 'a unit therewith and including a first portion underlying the lower face of said ring member and having an opening therein, a second portion extending upwardly theretrom along the outer periphery of said member, and a wiper lip integral therewith and extending upwardly and outwardly from said second pontion, and an attaching clip received in and movable endwise in said opening and comprising an elongated portion having hook portions at its opposite ends, said clip having a generally vertical operative position extending upwardly between said second portion and said ring member and in which said hook portions respectively hook into a hot top casing and under said ring memberand an angularly related storage position under the lower face of said ring member and in which one hook portion is received and held in said opening in said first portion of said strip and said other book portion is received and held in a second opening in said unit and being swingable and movable endwise in said opening between said positions.
3. In combination; a hot top bottom ring member, a wiper strip on said ring member forming a unit therewith and having a portion lying along an outer side of said ring member, an attaching clip member adapted to secure the bottom ring and wiper strip to -a hot top casing and comprising an elongated body portion having hook portions at its opposite ends, said clip member having an inactive storage position assembled with said ring member and wiper strip in which substantially the entire length of said elongated body portion extends along said portion of sand wiper strip, said clip member also having an operative position extending substantially vertically wherein said elongated portion of said clip extends above the top of said ring and one hook portion is located above the top of said ring, said wiper strip including means comprising an aperture therein through which said clip member projects when in said storage position and cooperable with said clip member to attach said clip member to said portion of said wiper strip and providing for swinging movement of said clip member relative to said wiper strip from said storage position, and said unit including means for receiving and releasably securing the clip to the wiper strip against movement in said aperture when in said storage position.
4. As an article of commerce an assembly comprising; a hot top bottom ring member having an apenture in an outer side of said ring member, a wiper strip member attached to said ring member forming a unit therewith and having an aperture therethrough overlying said aperture in said ring member, an elongated resilient wire-like snap clip member projecting through said aperture in said wiper strip member and into said aperture in said ring member, said clip member being movable while located in said apertures and having its opposite end portions bent with respect to the length of said clip member to provide tines connected by a body portion; said clip member further having an operative position in which said body portion is received in said apertures and an angularly related generally horizontal storage position to which it is movable while disposed in said aperture in said wiper strip, and said unit including means for receiving and releasably securing said clip member'against movement in said aperture in said wiper strip when the clip member is in said storage position.

Claims (1)

  1. 2. AN ASSEMBLY COMPRISING; A HOT TOP BOTTOM RING MEMBER HAVING GENERALLY HORIZONTAL UPPER AND LOWER FACES, A WIPER STRIP ON SAID RING MEMBER FORMING A UNIT THEREWITH AND INCLUDING A FIRST PORTION UNDERLYING THE LOWER FACE OF SAID RING MEMBER AND HAVING AN OPENING THEREIN, A SECOND PORTION EXTENDING UPWARDLY THEREFROM ALONG THE OUTER PERIPHERY OF SAID MEMBER, AND A WIPER LIP INTEGRAL THEREWITH AND EXTENDING UPWARDLY AND OUTWARDLY FROM SAID SECOND PORTION, AND AN ATTACHING CLIP RECEIVED IN AND MOVABLE ENDWISE IN SAID OPENING AND COMPRISING AN ELONGATED PORTION HAVING HOOK PORTIONS AT ITS OPPOSITE ENDS, SAID CLIP HAVING A GENERALLY VERTICAL OPERATIVE POSITION EXTENDING UPWARDLY BETWEEN SAID SECOND PORTION AND SAID RING MEMBER AND IN WHICH SAID HOOK PORTIONS RESPECTIVELY HOOK INTO A HOT TOP CASING AND UNDER SAID RING MEMBER AND AN ANGULARLY RELATED STORAGE POSITION UNDER THE LOWER FACE OF SAID RING MEMBER AND IN WHICH ONE HOOK PORTION IS RECEIVED AND HELD IN SAID OPENING IN SAID FIRST PORTION OF SAID STRIP AND SAID OTHER HOOK PORTION IS RECEIVED AND HELD IN A SECOND OPENING IN SAID UNIT AND BEING SWINGABLE AND MOVABLE ENDWISE IN SAID OPENING BETWEEN SAID POSITIONS.
