(Cl. 21S- 11) This invention relates to improvements in retaining caps and their sealing discs, customarily used with nursing bottles and mason jars and containers of this type.
An object of this invention is to provide a retaining cap and its disc constructed and arranged to accommodate various types of life-like and legendary figures that may be used with and without bottles and jars and arranged in various ways to content and amuse infants.
Another object is that the device may be formed of any suitable material and in any suitable shape of form, and in part formed of figures representing life-like and legendary objects that may be squeezable, to produce funny and distorted actions, and hollow with transparent windows, and extended hollow chambers and resilient arrangementsv all for the contentment and amusement of infants.
Another object is that the device when free of the amusing attachments, may become mobile as in a wagon when rolled about up-side-down.
Another object is that the device may be removably connected to nursing bottles and other containers such as vmason jars and the like, with the disc arranged between the bottle and the retaining cap with or without threads, and a spring and pin arrangement in between to carry the disc with the retaining cap as desired and a similar pin and spring arrangement to hold the disc resiliently to the retaining cap if desired.
Another object is that by turning and adjusting the protective cap it carries the retaining cap and disc which adjusts the arrangement of life-like figures in the bottle to various amusing movements.
Another object is that inflatable life-like figures may be arranged with or without the bottle and inflated by means of a valve in the disc for removably connecting life-like figures and legendary characters to one end of the valve the other end receives the air from squeezing the hollow figures, or it may be arranged to blow the air by mouth with an aperture arranged as desired with air vents arranged as desired.
Another object is to provide a protective cap to cover a gure that extends up through the retaining cap and a nipple when used and removably installed on the retaining cap, and formed and shaped to represent life-like or legendary figures, and both the life-like figures and the protective cap may have transparent windows to View the interior and, hollow chambers, with things therein or thereon to amuse a child.
Another object is that the protective cap may be used as a handle when the infant wishes to play or be amused with the amusing arrangement on the opposite side which may also be larranged in the hollow threaded part of the retaining cap.
Another object is that the disc may be formed and arranged with a hollow chamber to accommodate a figure having a flanged circular base, as shown in FIGURE 2.
Another object is that the rollers may be arranged in the top of the neck-like extension or bead-like element to aid in stretching life-like figures a nipple or any suitable figure on to the cap, and when retaining cap is placed up-side-down may be used like a wagon and rolled about with amusing things therein.
These and other objects, features and advantages of this invention will be manifest in the following detailed description and accompanying drawing of preferred embodiments thereof.
In the drawing, wherein corresponding parts are indicated by the same reference numerals.
FIGURE 1 is a vertical sectional view of the device showing the cap 10 having a tubular neck-like extension 12 with a `bead-like element 13 surrounding said neck at the retaining top and having lan arrangement or `a series of globular plastic or metal rollers 14 in the top socket-like arrangement S to aid in connecting stretch on type life-like figures and showing the circular disc 11 with or Without a life-like figure or without threads adjusted into the cap 10 to adjustably hold flanged type lifelike figures and legendary figures` which will extend up through the neck 12. Numeral 15 in FIGURE 2, is the disc formed in one piece with a hollow chamber 16 to accommodate flanged type life-like figures 17 which may be formed for teething elements to be used with the bottle `and cap or without, as desired. FIGURE 3 shows a hollow chamber 19 and life-like figure 18. Numeral 20 shows a flanged life-like figure held in place with disc 11. It also shows a life-like figure arrangement 21 removably connected to disc 11 and shows threaded holes 22 to connect other figure arrangements if desired. It also shows a stretch-on type figure 23 representing a babys bust connected to neck 12, and hollow chambers 24 and the transparent window 25 through which may be viewed figure 20 extending up through cap 10. Numeral 26 in FIGURE 4 is a blind stretch on type nipple connected to neck 12 of retaining cap 10 and the protective cap 2.7 which is to be formed to represent a life-like or legendary figure and installed on retaining cap 10, and it shows the pin and spring 28 and valve 29, and the Aarrangement of life-like figures extending down into the bottle, said figures may be adjusted to various amusing movements by turning the cover 27 which carries the retaining cap 10 and disc 11 if desired, or the disc 11 may be `adjusted as desired with a life-like figure handle formed thereon to carry and adjust the arrangement of figures extending into bottle 25, and also shown is a portion of a life-like figure 30` formed on a disc and extending up through the retaining cap and into the nipple.
FIGURE 5 is a top plan view of the tubular neck-like extension 12 showing the rollers 14 and the bead-like element 13. The bottles and jars or containers may be transparent, and with an -arrangement of various type lifelike figures imprinted or formed in various ways to amuse an infant.
Another object is that the disc can be formed with a hollow chamber to accommodate various type figures having a fianged base, and the neck-like extension on the top of the retaining cap can be formed on the said disc opposite the hollow chamber to accommodate stretch on type figures.
Another object is that the globular plastic or metal rollers in the top socket-like arrangement of the neck-like extension, of the retaining cap is to aid stretch-on type figures of various kinds, and to cause the retaining cap to be mobile, so when placed up-side-down it can be rolled about with amusing things removably connected to a disc therein. This form is mostly for large retaining caps for jars with extra large mouths.
