SPEIIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 292,545, datcd January 9, 1801.
I Application filed July 9, 18S3. (No model.)
To all whom i nitty concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. DAVIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at .Glens Falls, inthe county of Warren and State ot' New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bicycles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in bicycles, and has for its object to furnish an attachmentto the pedals, consisting of a top, lift and balance to keep the pedals right side up. The objects are attained by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings,

The letter A indicates a rpiece of wood or metal lsecured to the pedal-plate G by bolts or screws F.

Having described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent, and to claim, is-
Ina bicycle, an attachment, A, having adjustable top-lift B and balance-weight D, substantrially as described, and for the purposes set forth.
