Description

Dec. 29, 1959 A.SCHRENK 2,918,728
APPARATUS FOR THE DRYING OF SPAGHETTI AND THE LIKE Filed 001;. 30. 1956 1NVENTOR:
41 p95) CHfiFNK United States Patent APPARATUS FOR THE DRYING OF SPAGHE'I'II AND THE LIKE Alfred Schrenk, Uzwil, Switzerland, assignor to Gebrueder Buehler, Uzwil, Switzerland, a Swiss firm Application October '30, 1956, Serial No. 619,331
Claims priority, application Switzerland November 12, 1955 1 Claim. (Cl. 34-1) It has been proposed before to dry spaghetti and other like food paste in long, solid or hollow, cordlike pieces with the aid of an electrical high-frequency field. In this lead 3 extends from a high-frequency generator 1 to an electrode 5 which is formed as substantially horizontal plate. Above the latter are disposed metallic rods 6a which through the system of leads 2 are electrically connected to the generator 1. The electrode formed by the rods 6a is earthed, as indicated at 8. The spaghetti 7 to be dried are suspended from the rods 6a.
The electrode 5 of course, need not be formed as a truly horizontal plane plate. Under certain circumstances it may hang slightly inclined in order to vary the spacing between the electrodes, or it may be formed as a non-plane plate.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
An apparatus for drying elongated looped food paste products comprising, in combination: a source of high frequency power; a substantially horizontal plate-like electrode connected with said source; and substantially horizontal support means disposed above and spaced from said electrode, said support means comprising a plurality of substantially parallel metallic rods for holding the looped products substantially perpendicularly to the plane of said electrode, each of said rods being connected to said source and constituting a second electrode with the looped products disposed between said second and said first mentioned electrodes.
