Specification formingipa-rt of Letters Patent No. 28.3137, dated May 15, 1860.
.To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that we, ABRAHAM STOLER and SAMUEL A. SrsscN, both of Bristol, in the county ot' Bucks and State et' Pennsylvania, have invented 'a new and useful Machine for Harvesting Grass or Grain; and We do hereby declare that the following is a full land exact description thereof', reference being had.A

The shoe S is attached to the main frame F by means of the leg T. It is connected With the leg,T by -a bolt passing through both the it turns.
Now, the construction and operation ot` this machine are such that the driver, by depressing the endot lever K, brings the weight of the rear end of the frame by means *of the fnlcr'm I upon the supporting-frame G and caster-wheel .H, by which the shoe S and beam attached are elevated from the ground -to any reasonable height for traveling or for passing over small obstacles. Again, in depressing v the long arm of lever K the upright lever L is th rown backward and the rod M made to draw up the point ofthe shoe,`thereby raisingl the point of the guards, rendering them less-liable to catch in any grass or other occurring obstruction.
We claim- 1. The arrangement of the caster-wheel H, with its frame G, connected vto the niain axle, in combination with the' levers K and Lful crnm I, rod M, and shoe S, .applied in the man'- ner and for the purnose substantially as de. scribed. l
2. The combination and arrangement of the rod M and leversin'terposed between the caster-Wheel fratrie and pivoted shoe S for adjusting the cutting apparatus, substantially as described.
