To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I JOSHUA JoHNsoN, a

citizen of the United States, residing at Briscoe Run, in the-county of Wood and State of West Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Portable Fences, of

' which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawlngs. y

My invention relates to portable fences and it consists in the construction and arrangement of its several parts, as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and pointed out in the claim.

What I claim is- In a fence, the post having its top wider than the body, and braces pivoted upon each side thereof, and having suitably-arranged slots for the reception of the rails, and alockbar pivoted to its edge upon the same side as I the slots, whereby when the bar is turned parallel with the post the rails are held securely within the recesses, as shown.
