a In carryingL out my. invention. I employ a long; flat, open-top box and a flanged lid that is telescoped over the top of the box to close it. The lid has on the inner side a mirror and is provided with a bar that lies dat on top of the lid when the box is closed and an end of which is set into a socket on one long side wall of the box after the lid has been lifted off. The box has on the other long side wall a pair of spaced hooks for engagement with a belt worn by the user or surrounding a post. The box is further provided with a brace which may be swung down and stand diagonally in engagement with the abdomen of the user or with the post if the -kit is mounted on a post.
The various features of novelty whereby the present invention is characterized Will hereinafter be pointed out with particularity in the claims; but, for a full understanding of the invention and its various objects and advantages, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Fig. 1 is a perspective View of a man wearing one of my improved kits, opened for and ready for shaving.
p Fig. 2 is a View on a larger scale showing, in elevation, a fragment of a post with the open kit mounted thereon;` a fragment of the kit being in section.

Fig. 6 is a section on line 6-6 of Fig. 4.
Fig. 7 is a section on line 7--7 of Fig. 3.
Referring to the drawings, 1 represents an elongated shallow box, one of the long side walls 2 of which is concave. The opposite side wall 3 is preferably convex. The interior of the box is provided with partitions 4, 4, dividing the same into compartments. Various shaving accessories may be stored in such compartments. Fitting ZZh Patented Mar. 25,1; 11958 2. into"one`of"tl1'e compartments, between two partitions at oneendl of thebox, is a little"receptaclev 5V adapted to contain shaving water. Oirttop' of*l tlieflid` is allat bar 24. abouthalf' as' longvv atslth'e4 lidandpivotedi at one en'd tothe lidnear the concave edgeandmidway between the" ends of theY lidi The pivotal connection comprises a bolt 25 extending up from the lid through the bar and provided with a wing nut Z6 to clamp the bar to the lid when desired. On the top of and near one corner of the lid is a stop 27 for the free end of bar 24. This stop is provided with a part 28 which overhangs the bar when it engages the stop. The free end of the bar is bent to provide a lip or ange 29 that lies at an angle to the rest of the bar. This lip is of a size and shape to lit into socket 16.
When the kit is not being used for shaving the box is closed and the brace and the bar 24 are secured in the positions occupied in Figs. 4 and 5. The kit may be carried about by the handle 17 from one place to another in the same manner as a large purse.
When it is desired to shave it may be hooked onto any conventional belt B that forms part of the users wearing apparel. The user may be wearing the belt as in Fig. 1 or it may be tightened about a post P as in Fig. 2. The two loops being spaced apart, the kit cannot tilt in its lengthwise direction. By adjusting the brace (parts 8 and 9) as shown in Figs. 1, 2, 6 and 7, the lower end of strut 8 may engage the abdomen of the wearer or the post, as the case may be, to prevent tilting from front to rear. It Will be noted that the angle that the strut makes with the lbottom of the box may be varied, if necessary, to ensure that the box will be horizontal for users of al1 sizes.
The lid having been removed before or after mounting the kit on the belt, bar 24 is loosened so that it may be swung from its idle position, illustrated in Fig. 4 into and locked in the position illustrated in Figs. 1, 2, 3 and 7. The lip 29 is then thrust into socket 15 so that the mirror is held at the proper distance from the user and at the proper angle to'alford the user the most advantageous view of his features while shaving.
When the kit is set up for shaving all of the com s? veniences available n bath rooms are also available to the user of the kit. The only thing missing from the kit is water, but there are very few places where water cannot be obtained and the kit contains a receptacle intov which the necessary amount of water maybe placed when needed. i
I claim:
