cLEANsING TISSUE HOLDER Filed March 22, l1955 W/ae Jam/60M IN VEN TOR.
[fi/6.3v BY United This invention relates, in general, to a holder for cleansing tissue, and has more particular reference to a holder especially designed and constructed to cooperate with the removable top of a usual bedside stand.
One object of the invention is to facilitate the mounting, and demounting, of the holder, on, and from, the stand.
Further objects, purposes, and characteristic features of the invention will appear as the description progresses, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings is shown one specific form of the invention, but it is to be clearly understood that this is set forth solely for the purpose of example, and is not to be construed, in any sense, whatsoever, in a limiting manner.
In the drawings:
Figure l is an isometric view, of part of a bedside stand, with the holder of this invention, fitted to the stand, and with a box of cleansing tissue in the holder;
Figure 2 is a front, elevational view of the holder alone;
Figure 3 is a fragmentary, sectional view of the holder, as assembled, with the cabinet; and
Figure 4 is a sectional view, on line 4-4 of Figure 2, and viewed in the direction of the arrows.
Referring now to the drawings, a bedside cabinet is shown, in part, and comprising, a front, sides, and a back, 5, 6, and 7, respectively, and a built-in fixed top 8.
Forming a part of the stand, is a removable top T, with a dished-in central part 9, horizontal raised edge portions 10, and a down-turned peripheral rim 11. It should be no-ted that the edge portions of the top are spaced a small distance above the lixed top 8, as at 12, and that rim 11 leaves a narrow space between it, and the back 7, of the cabinet, as at 13.
The holder, according to this invention, is formed, preferably, of three parts, a flat base B, and two like, upstanding arms, A1 and A2.
The base is a at, rectangular member, of a length somewhat short of the width of the top T.
Riveted to the base, or otherwise fixed thereto, as at 14, are the two arms, A1 and A2, and in such spaced relation on base B, as to accommodate a standard box 15, of tissue.
Each of the arms, as A1, has an inturned horizontal part, 16, extending under base B, and fixed thereto, as by a rivet 14. The arm is then bent downwardly, at right angles to part 16, and then bent back on itself, to form a depending, narrow U shaped portion, 17, of a width to snugly receive the flange 11, on the removable top T. This arm is then continued upwardly a sucient distance to accommodate the box 15, and carries, at its upper end, a bent finger, comprising a forwardly extending part 18, and a laterally inwardly extending part 19. There is a like finger on arm A2, but with its inwardly extending part pointing in opposition to part 19.
From the above detailed description, of this form of the invention, the manner in which the novel holder can be quickly, and easily, mounted and demounted, should be obvious.
ttes Patent() To demount the holder, it is merely necessary to remove the cabinet top T, and lift the holder off of the built in top 8.
To mount the holder, top T is removed, the holder is placed in position, as shown in Figure 3, with parts 16 resting on top 8, and base B, positioned along the back edge of the cabinet, and then top T is replaced, as in Figure 3, with part 10 bearing down ion base B, and ange 11, received in the U bends 17.
The above rather specic description of one form of this invention, has been given, solely by way of example, and is not to be considered, in any sense, whatsoever, as limiting in character.
It is to be understood, that all such modifications, variations, and adaptations, as fall within the scope of the appended claims, are intended to be protected by the present disclosure.
What is claimed is:
