To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, RUrUs SARLLs and VIRGIL C. HOLLAND, citizens of the United States, and residents ot' Gainesjyille, in the county of Cooke and State of Teas, have invented a new and valuablelmprovement in Locks; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of thesame, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and `to the letters and gures of reference marked thereon.

This invention has relation to combinationlocks; and it consists in the construction and novelarrangementof the elongated case, its longitudinally slotted and notched partitions, the boltway over the partitions, reciprocating notched and perforated slides, and adjustable pins or studs engaging the perforations and projecting into the slots of the partitions, the rack-slide, drop-bolt, and graduated knob carrying the pinion, all as hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanyingdrawings, the letter a designates'an elongated case having parallel front and rear walls, and between said walls parallel partitions b, which are formed with `of' the slides detached from the longitudinal slots c, open at one end, andwith the aligned notches d in the middle portions of their upper edges. Through the `upper end of the boltway is made a slot, l, for the passage of the locking end of the bolt, and a ledge or stop, l', engagng a shoulder, m, of the bolt, limits its upward movement, so that the b'olt is always in position and ready for opera/tion. This combination-lock is simple and strong in its construction, and is designed for furniture, being especially adapted to the drawers of bureaus and other cases.
Having described this invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
