  • a combined mop holder and wringer comprising two plates hingedly connected together along their upper edges and adapted to form a variable acute angle between them, projecting members slidingly mounted on the internal face of at least one of said plates and adapted to slide towards and away from the hinged edges of the plates, a sponge inserted between said plates and retained in position by said projecting members, a handle secured by one of its ends to one of said plates, and means carried by said handle for swinging the other plate toward the first plate so as to compress the sponge when in operation and to wring the water from said sponge.
