BRACELET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 267,886, dated November 21, 1882. Application filed August 7, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN (J. HARRINGTON, of Providence, in the State of Rhode Island, have invented an Improvement in Bracelets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in that class of bracelets which are formed of openly-coiled wire, and are secured to the wrist by bringing the ends of the bracelet laterally nearer to each other and connecting them in that position by means of a hook; and it consists in thecoln bination of a hook-stud attached to one of the lapped ends of the bracelet, with an ornamental catch provided with a perforated back plate and hinged to the opposite arm of the bracelet.

and in the back plate of the catch 0 is made a slot, F, adapted to receive the hook-stud B,
which is so formed or bent as to operate, in conjunction with the spring action of the wire A, which tends to the lateral separation of the lapped ends, to properlyhold the bracelet upon the wrist of the wearer, the position of the several parts of the bracelet in this case being shown in Figs-1, 2, and 3, and the open JOHN C. HARRINGTON.
