- This invention relates to a rotary pump and more particularly to a self-priming rotary pump having a plurality of pumping units Within one housing.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a rotary pump capable of handling large quantities of fluids in an exceptionally efficient manner.

- a further object is to provide a rotary pump which will be substantially resistant to the corrosive action of fluids and slurries.

- a rotary concentric vane-type, self priming, positive displacement pump for handling corrosive fluids which comprises a casing made of corrosion resisting metal a plurality of openings in said casing arranged in sets consisting of an adjacent inlet and outlet opening, a plurality of replaceable convexly curved arcuate cam elements forming a portion of the inner circumferential surface of said casing, said cams being positioned intermediate tWo sets of openings and spaced therefrom, a pair of end plates adapted to close said casing, a shaft extending through at least one of said plates and having a corrosive resistant molded resilient impeller interlocked thereto concentric With said casing, said impeller having a plurality of exible vanes extending radially from said shaft, said vanes being adapted to be exed by said cam elements inwardly toward said shaft during rotation of said impeller, drive means for rotating said shaft and suction and discharge manifolds connected respectively to said inlets and outlets.
