Description

(No Model.)
J. TRICKEL. LE MON SQUEEZER.
- UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH TRIOKEL, OF READING, PENNSYLVANIA.
LEMON-SQUEEZER.
SPECIFICATION forming part 'of Letters Patent No. 260,258, dated June 2'7, 1882.
Application filed March 20, 1882. (No model.)
1' all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JosEPH TRIOKEL, of
Reading, in the county of Berks, and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lemon- Squeezers and Nut-Crackers Combined; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
This invention has for its objects to provide certain improved means whereby a lemonsqueezer or other similar device may be secured to a table or other support, as more fully hereinafter specified. These objects I attain by the means illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 represents a side elevation of my improved device; Fig. 2, a longitudinal section of the same, and Fig. 3 a detached portion of my improvement, showing the cup in which the lemon is held while being subjected to pressure.
The letters A A indicate two levers, which are fulcrumed together at B, as indicated in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. The lever A is formed with a oouoidal shell, 0, and the lever A with a conoidal cup, D, into which the shell 0 is forced when the handles of the levers are brought together.
The letter E designates a detachable cup adapted to fit in the cup D, as indicated in Fig. 2 ot' the drawings. The said cup is provided with perforations, as indicated in Fig. 2, or with a series of slots and apertures, as shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings. The cup D has an opening atits bottom through which the lemonjuice may escape. The levers at their forward ends are provided with curved jaws, which are corrugated on their adjacent faces in order to hold a nut and crack it. They are also formed with curved corrugated faces F just at the rear of the cup, which may also be employed to crush the shell of a nut.
The letter G designates a lug on the lower lever, which is provided with a recess, by means of which it can be secured to the upper end of a bent rod, H, which is secured in a recess in a foot, I, adapted to be secured to a table or other support in order to render the operation of the device more convenient.
It will be perceived that the improved implement is compact and solid in its construction, not liable to get out of order, and that. the cup in which the squeezing is effected can be readily cleansed of the pulp and bruised seed, obviating an extremely objectionable feature of the ordinary lemon-squeezer.
The implement, it will also be perceived, by reason of its support, renders it very convenient for use where large quantities of lemons or nuts are to be squeezed or cracked.
Having described myinvention, what I claim,=
