0. A. BARNES.
FUNNEL HOLDER.
No. 260,079. Patented June 27, 1882.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES A. BARNES, OF LOGKPORT, NEW YORK.
FUNNEL-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 260,079, dated June 27, 1882,
Application filed May 18, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, G. A. BARNES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lockport, in the county of Niagara and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Funnel-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to devices for filling paper bags or parcels in suchplaces of business as grocery, drug, tea, hardware stores, $60.
Heretofore devices known as F bag-holders have been employed. Said devices are often an inconvenience, and much time is required to adjust the bag in position.
The object of my device is merely to sustain one or more funnels (or tunnels) through which the material may be delivered into the receptacle, be it bag, pail, can, orjug.
In the accompanying drawing, the figure represents a sectional View, in which- A is a standard, which I make of any de sired height, with base a, which rests on or may be secured firmly to table, counter, or floor B. The shaft of the standard A is tapered from base to top, as shown on drawing. I have light malleable-iron-frames 0 d, which supply the place of securers for the funnels (l and D. These frames are provided with holes tapered to correspond with the taper of the nels--one, c, to support a large funnel, O, the r other, d, to support a smaller one,D,to accommodate bags of different size. These frames 0 d are at liberty to swing in any position around the standard A. The bag is held under the funnel and the material is delivered into it through the funnel, as before stated. At a point near the base I locate a similar frame, 6, in which I secure a globular-shaped ball, E, or receptacle with a movable cover for twine, so that I combine with a funnel-holder a twine-holder also.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A twine and funnel (or tunnel) holder consisting ofa tapered standard, A, supports 0 and d, provided with correspondingly-tapered holes to fit standard A and free to swing around it, funnels (or tunnels) G D, and twine-holder E, all substantially as shown and described.
