which precludes the possibility of the blouse being` pulled from the skirt.

A further object is to prevent the underlying dark blouse to show through light colored skirts by the elimination of the blouse portion below the waist line.

Still another object is to obtain the comfort of a one-piece garment despite the use of the zipper construction to combine the skirt and blouse portions.

An additional object is to increase the number of combination effects through the use of a single skirt.

Still another and further object is to minimize the time required for robing by the easy app1ica tion` of the skirt and blouse combination.

A still further object is to minimize the cost of zipper constructions in that only one-half a zipper is required for the additional blouses.

Another and still further object is to enable a saving of blouse material by the elimination of the blouse portion normally tucked below the waist line.

Other objects will be apparent hereinafter throughout the specification.

Figure 1 is a fragmentary elevation of the rear or inside of the opening on the sideof a skirtblouse combination.

Figure 2 is a similar fragmentary view but reflects a skirt-blouse combination having a flap button construction.

Figure 3 shows the glider `fastening construem tion applied to mens trousers, while Figure 4 shows a modification of the separator box to accommodate an elongation of the lower tape end.

Referring to the drawings, in Figure 1 I have shown the rear or inside View of a ladys skirt t0 and blouse I2. Attached to the blouse i2 is one-half of a conventional zipper or separable fastener having a tape I4 and teeth I6. Similarly secured to the skirt II) is the other half of the zipper having a tape I8 and teeth 20. The conventional glider 22 and tab 24 are shown with the fastener partially open. A vertical zipper 26, positioned below the placket '28 in the blouse porg tion I2 is indicated. However, the outer end 30 of a glider 32 is elongated and folded backto form a hook 34 which is adapted to engage an eye 38 secured on a belt 2l, and indicated in dotted lines below the end 48 of the tape It).4 The purpose of this construction is to secure the glider 32 in position after the zipper has been completely clos'ed and prevent the glider 32 from slipping down and open the tape 38 at the top.

In order to accommodate the requirements for additional securing means and to unquestionably eliminate the possibility of separation or' displacement of the tapes, a similar elongated hooked member 23 is formed on the tab 24 and a companion eye 25 is secured just above the elongated portion 48 on the placket 28, and at right angles to the eye 36. Accordingly, when. the tab 24 has been pulled to its limit, the hooked member 23 may be engaged with the eye 25 and further restrict the movement of the glider to prevent opening of the fastener and displacement of the tapes.

In the present construction, an eye 44 is secured by sewing, or other means, to the lower tape IB atV one end, while a hook IIE is similarly secured to the extension or elongated end 48 on tlie opposite end 5t of the tape I8. This elongation 48 is a continuation of the lower tape I8 or it may be a separable section` of tape secured to the tape I8 by sewing, as indicated at 52. In the event this end 48 is an elongation or machined strip of tape,` the separating box 40 would have to have, as indicated in Figure 4, the groove y54 extending throughout the length to enable the tape I8 to extend therethrough and be grippe thereby.

By this construction, shown. in Figure l, when the skirt IIJ has been closed by the glider 32 and secured to the eye 36, and the horizontal fastener pulled closed by the glider 22, the elongated end 48 is brought directly under the other tape end I8 and the eye 44 is engaged by the hook 45 and separation at this location is precluded. Due to the one-half of the zipper or separable fastener being secured to the blouse portion, the necessity for a longer blouse or tails is eliminated.

With particular reference to Figure 2 where a different type of skirt is shown, the skirt l0 is provided with end flaps 56 and 58. A button 60 and button hole 62 are shown to secure these ends. In this construction the tapes I4 and I8" abut the end of flap 58 on one side, and the lower tape I8" being provided with an eye 44', glider 22', and tab 24'. The opposite ends of the tapes and fastener have a similar separating box 40 and a hook 46' on the lower tape I8". The lower tape I8" is secured at 64 to the skirt which leaves the two ends 56 and 68 free to reach across the button-flap construction 60-62. Obviously, the

hook 45 will engage the eye 44 and secure the ends against movement after the separable fastener has been closed. A snap fastener lll is shown at one end of a placket portion 12.

In Figure 3, showing the upper end 14 folded back, a zipper construction is shown at 18 for closing the

side sections

18 and 80 of mens trousers. A belt portion 82 is provided with a button 84 and button hole 86. A tab 88 formed on the end of a glider 88 is provided with an elongated end 90 having a hooked portion 92 bent .down and under and adapted to engage an eye 94 secured, for example, by sewing to the belt portion 32. It is apparent that downward movement'of the glider 88 is prevented to open the fastener until the hooked portion 92 is removed from the eye 94.

It is appreciated that through the use of the fastening means on the extensions or elongated ends, increased waistline adjustments are obtained. For example, zippers can be purchased in many sizes and the eyes 44 can be moved on the tape to accommodate change in waistline requirements. Further, additional adjustment is obtained by the eyes lili being spaced apart from each other which are secured to the tape i8.

l Through the use of this invention in connection with both mens and womens garments, a denite closing of separable fasteners is accomplished.v In addition, this construction permits of the use of a single skirt with numerous blouses, as well as eliminating the conventional tailsV on blouses that have been secured below the waistline. Numerous other advantages are apparent from the above and the following claims.

I claim:

l. In a two piece garment comprising a blouse and skirt portion, tapes secured to the lower end of a blouse portion and another to the upper end of the skirt portion, one-half of separable fastener secured to each of said tapes, a fastener closing member, an elongated portion formed on one end of one of said tapes having a hooked portion secured thereto, an eye formed on the opposite end of said tape. and adapted to be engaged by said-hooked portion whereby separation of the ends of the lower tape ends is prevented and the blouse and skirt portions are maintained in cooperative engagement.

2. In a two piece garment comprising a blouse and skirt portion, a tape secured to the lower end of a blouse portion and another tape to the upper end of the skirt portion, one-half of a separable fastener secured to each of said tapes, a fastener closing member, an elongated portion formed on one end of one of said tapes having a hook secured thereto, a plurality of eyesformed on the opposite end of said tape and one of which is adapted kto be engaged by said hook whereby sepational means for preventing movement of said separable fastener comprising a hook formed from said closure fastening member adapted to engage an eye secured to the material adjacent the end of said tapes.

3. In a two piece garment comprising a blouse and skirt portion, a horizontal tape secured to the lower end of said blouse portion and another tape to the upper end of said skirt portion, said skirt portion being provided with a vertical opening, vertical tapes secured to the end portions of the material forming said opening, one-half of separable fasteners secured to each of said vertical tapes, one-half of a separable fastener secured to each of said horizontal tapes, an elongated portion formed on one end of the lower of said horizontal tapes having a hook secured thereto, an eye formed on the opposite end of said horizontal lower tape and adapted to be engaged by said hook whereby separation of said lower horizontal tape is prevented, additional garment closure means comprising a hook formed on the closure member mounted on' said vertical tapes having cooperative engagement with an eye formed on said lower horizontal tape whereby said relative movement of said tapes is prevented and the openings of said blouse and skirt Vportions are concealed.

4. In a two piece garment comprising blouse and skirt portions having tapes secured thereto, one to the lower edge of said blouse portion Vand the other to the upper edge of said skirt portion, one end of the skirt tape having an elongated extending portion, one-half of a separable fastener secured to each of said tapes, a separator box secured to adjacent ends of said fastener, a groove in said separator box, a portion of the top edge of the skirt tape extending portion being secured in said separator groove, a hook secured to said extending portion and a companion eye formed on the opposite end of said skirt tape whereby separation of the lower tape ends is prevented to effect cooperative engagement of said blouse and skirt portions.

5. In a two piece garment comprising blouse and skirt portions having tapes secured thereto, one to the lower edge of said blouse portion and the other to the upper edge of said skirt portion, one end of the skirt tape having an elongated portion, one-half of a separable fastener secured to each of said tapes, a separator box secured to adjacent ends of said fastener, a groove in said separator box, a portion of the top edge of the skirt tape elongation secured in said separator groove, a hook secured to said elongation and a companion eye formed on the opposite end of said skirt tape whereby separation of the lower tape ends is prevented to effect cooperative engagement of said blouse and skirt portions, additional -means for preventing movement of said separable fastener comprising a hook formed from said closure fastening member adapted to engage an eye secured to the material adjacent the end of said tapes.

6. In a two piece garment comprising blouse and skirt portions, the combination of a separable fastener secured to the lower portion of said blouse and the upper edge of said skirt portion, means for securing said separable fastener comprising a hook on one end of said fastener for engagement with an eye on the opposite end of said fastener, a vertical opening in the skirt portion having a separate fastener closure and tab therefor, a hook formed on said tab for cooperative engagement with an eye secured to said blouse portion whereby movement of said fastener is prevented, and a vertical opening closure concealing means at the junction of said blouse and skirt at the top thereof comprising said blouse and skirt closure connection. i 7. In a two piece garment comprising a separable blouse and skirt portion having tapes secured to the undersides of the adjacent waistline edges, one-half of a separable fastener` se- 'cured to each of said tapes, a fastener closure m member, an elongated portion formed on one end of one of said tapes having a hooked member secured thereto, an eye formed on the opposite end of theother tape adapted to be engagedvby 6 said hooked member on the underside of said blouse and skirt portions whereby separation thereof is prevented and complete closure of said blouse and skirt portions is effected.
