in position.
A simplified embodiment of the eveeaeeae shown in Fig. 4 in which the -platform 25 is-integral with a short vertical wall portion 26 extending downwardly from one of its edges-and carrying a spring clip .21! which projects from the wall portion 26"'inthe direction awayfrom the platform 25 and which serves to embrace theneck of the bottle il When the support according to Fig. 4 is applied tothe bottle H, the lower edge of the wall portion 26 rests on the shoulder of the bottle ll. .1 In the further embodiment of the invention, shown in Fig. 5, a platform 35 is integral at one edge thereof with a short downwardly extendingvertical wall portion 36 adapted to rest with its free lower edge on the shoulder of a bottle and carrying by means of a hinge 31 aspring clip 38. On its opposite edge, the platform 35 is integral with a vertical wall portion 39 which extends downwardly for a distance approximately equal to the heightofthe bottle and serves to steady the arrangement against upsetting due to the pressure of a finger on the platform 35.- --Inthis arrangement, the spring clip 38 may be folded from the position shown in Fig. 5,-in which it projects at right angles from the vertical wall portion 36, into aposition substantiallyin theplane of the wall portion 36 to facilitate-storingand shipping of the device. 7
The inventionv may also be realized in a very simple arrangement as shown in Fig. 6. A-p1a't-' form 45 forms the top of a rectangular column 46 consisting for instance, of sheetmetal, china, plastic or the like. ,The platform 45 at the top of column 46 is disposed at a levelapproximately equal to the height of an average nail polish bottle and the device shown in Fig. 6 may simply be placed nextto abottle. The vertical walls of the column 46 make it possible tobring the plat-' form45 very close to the bottle mouth l3 so that the dangerof 'nail'polish dropping from the brush. or evaporating .on. the brush is successfully avoided.
' It should be understood that'fing'e'r supports according to the present invention nlay bernade from sheet metal, cardboard, plesticj or anyother suitable material, and that they may be"con-I structed in the form of scored blankswhich-can be stored and shipped in a limited space and can be folded'or bent to the desiredfconfiguration prior to being used.
It will also be understood that theginvention 4 is applicable to a nail polish remover bottle, as well as to a nail polish bottle.
I claim:
1. A finger support for use with a nail polish bottle to facilitate the transfer of polish from the bottle to a finger nail and to steady the bottle during the immersion and withdrawal of the brush, comprising a substantially horizontal platform shaped to support an individual finger tip, a. support for said platform including a substantially vertical wall portion extending downwardly from one edge of said platform for a distance approximatelyequal to the height of a nail polish -bottle and adapted to be located in a plane tangentialto a wall of the nail polish bottle, and a loop element secured to said vertical wall intermediate its ends-and at a distance from said platform edge exceeding the height of the neck of a nail polish bottle, said loop element projecting from said vertical wall in a horizontal plane away from said platform and being shaped and dimensioned to beslipped over and to embrace the body of a nail polish bottle to attach the finger support to such bottle. 2. A fingers upport as claimed in claim 1 ineluding 'lugs projecting from the side edges of said "vertical wall portion near the lower end thereof to embrace the body of a nail polish bottle near its bottom. I t 3. The combination of a nail polish bottle hav-; ing a flat vertical wall portion and a finger support including a vertical-sheet material element extending-in a plane adjacent said flat bottle wall from the bottom of the bottle to the level of the bottle mouth, a loop secured to said vertical ele ment and embracing the body of the bottle inter mediate its upper and lower ends, and a horizontal platform integral with said vertical ele ment at the upper edge thereof and extending away from said bottle mouth. I 4. A combination, as claimed in claim 3, in-- cluding a pair of lugsl'on the sideedges of said vertical element near the lower end thereof andextending at angles'to said vertical element to embrace 'thebody of said'bottle near its bottom. t PHI LIPLIBSON.
