In the accoinpanying-drawings"I Fig. 1" showsfa governor-controlled mechanism G driven from the main drive shaft E of the sealer as will later be described which operates to close a microswitch S to canse glue to be fed at pre-determined intervals by the gluing mechanism so long as the shaft E continues to rotate at its normal rate.
Thus, the shaft E (Fig. 2 of the above patent) is driven by a belt E' running over a pulley Il! journalled on the shaft E, the pulley driving the shaft through a shear pin I2 and a collar IA. keyed on the shaft. This shear pin breaks at intervals due to any overload on the machine. If the glue feeding mechanism of this patent is in a position to feed glue when this occurs, the operator must shut it off at once or damage may result. The present mechanism for shutting off the now of glue in such an event will now be described.

So long as shaft E remains in normal operation the valve 164 will remain in the position shown in Fig. 2 feeding air from the pipe 160 to pipe 162 and maintaining the glue valves in their normal operation. -I claim as my invention:
A1. A glue feeding control for a bag closing and sealing machine comprising a glue applying device, a valve controlled air pressure means operatively connected to the glue applying device to control the flow of glue, a solenoid operatively associated with the valve to open and close same, a switch for controlling the electrical power sup-r ply to the solenoid, and a governor operably connected to a moving element of the machine and operably associated with the switch to operate same at predetermined speeds of the machine to cause the solenoid to operate the air valve to start and stop the flow of glue at said predetermined speeds.
2. A glue feeding control for bag closing and sealing machine having a sealing means including a glue applying device with an air supply linefto cause the glue to feed, the control comprising ay valve in the air supply line, a solenoid operatively connected to the valve, a switch connected to the solenoid to control same, and a fly ball governormounted on a shaft of the sealing machine and operably associated with the switch to operate same at predetermined speeds to cause the solenoid to open and close the air valve controlling glue application.
3. A glue feeding control for a bag closing and sealing machine' including a drive shaft driving the machine, and a glue applying device, the control comprising a valve controlled air supply connected to the glue applying device to cause the glue to feed, a solenoid operatively connected to have provided very simple and eflicient means for controllingv operably associated with the switch to operate the switch at predetermined speeds to open or close the control valve starting or stopping the glue feed.
4. A glue feeding control for a bag closing and sealing machine including a drive shaft and an air supply line leading to a glue applying unit, the control comprising a' valve in the air supply line for controlling the air to start and stop the glue feed, a solenoid connected to the valve. `a switchin circuit with the solenoid to control the power supply thereto, and governor` means mounted on the drive shaft and operably cony nected tothe switch to operate same responsive to speed 4drops causing the solenoid to operate the air valve to turn off the glue supply when the machine slows below a predetermined speed.
' 5. A glue feeding control for a bag closing and i sealing machine comprising a glue applying dethe air supply valve, a switch in circuit with the 55 solenoid to control the power supply thereto, and control means operably associated With the drive shaft and responsive to speed changes thereof vice, a valve controlled air supply connected to the glue applying device to cause the flow of glue with air pressure, electrical control means operatively associated with the air supply valve to open and close same thereby controlling the glue application, and a speed responsive governor operably connected to a moving machine element and operatively associated with the electrical control means to bring the control means into operation to close the air valve when the speed drops below a predetermined level to stop the feeding of glue.

A glue feeding control for a bag closing and sealing machine comprising a glue applying device, a valve controlled air supply connected to the glue applying device to cause the ilow of glue with air pressure, a speed responsive device operably connected to a moving machine element, and a control means operably connected between the speed responsive device and the air supply Valve, said control means `closing the air valve responsive to a signal from the speed responsive device when the speed drops below a predetermined level to stop the flow of glue.
