open on one side, and is mounted on a carrier which can be shifted in a column and which can be locked in various positions of extension. The column itself is connected with the base plate in such a manner that it can be swiveled, and that it can be locked in the vertical position. Due to this arrangement the column can be laid flat on the base plate while the frame can be rotated into that central plane through the column, which is perpendicular to the plane in which the column moves. The whole arrangement is such that the device occupies a minimum of space when it is used.
Other objects and advantages will be in part obvious from the annexed drawing and in part hereinafter indicated in connection therewith byl the following analysis of this invention.
This invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combination of parts and in the unique relations of the members and in the relative proportioning and disposition thereof; all as more completely outlined herein.
To enable others skilled in the art so fully to comprehend the underlying features thereof that they may embody the same by the modifications in structure and relation contemplated by this invention, a drawing depicting a certainV form of the invention has been annexed as a part of this disclosure, and in such drawing, like characters of reference denote corresponding parts throughout all the views, of which:

Referring now more particularly to the draw- 2 Claims. (Cl. 248-100) ings, on a base plate I are arranged two guide plates 2 in shape of a sector of a circle. One end of a column 3 is connected with these plates by means of bolt 4. The end of this column is closed 5'; with a plate 5 which in addition to functioning as end plate, functions also as a base plate on one end of which the bolt 4 is located. On column 3 there is a rib 6 which extends to plate 5; a holding member 8 is connected to this rib .by means 10 of a pin 1 and the free end of the holding member 8 carries a cross-bar 9 of circular cross-secv tion. One end of each of the plates 2 has a notch 2a which serves as stop for the cross bar 9 of holding member 8.
Column 3 is hollow and has a square crosssection; a bar-shaped carrier I D, also with square cross-section is inserted in the column in such a way that it can be moved lengthwise. The free end of carrier I0 is connected with a piece of tubing IUa whose axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis ofthe carrier I0. A U-shaped frame l I2 is Supported in this tubing `r.Illa in such a way that it can be rotated; the-r 5""cross bar between the two arms of this frame has two stops I3 of such an arrangement and shape that the frame cannot be shifted axially but that it can be rotated by approximately 270 in the ...,direction'indicated in Fig. 1 by the arrow C. In
gdthe position according to Fig. 1, however, the two plates I3 make contact with rib I4 on carrier I0. Each of both arms of the frame for holding the bag carries a round bar I5, parallel to the arm; two holding clamps I6 are mounted on each bar in such a way that they can be shifted lengthwise and also rotated. The holding clamp I6 (Fig. 6) has the shape of a hook with the axis of rotation at one end; the hook-shaped other end I6b is designed in such a way, that the bag can 40 be put on the frame without lifting each hook separately. Corner I6c prevents that the hook is opened too far, so that the hook always makes contact with the point I 6a of the arm of the frame which has the shape of a round bar. Hook I6 grips a bag I1 which is put underneath and which exercises a pull downwards; by reacting on the hook the bag increases its clamping effect. The holding clamps I6 are, therefore, self-holding.
If the device is not, in use, columns 3 can be lowered on to the base plate I by rotating the holding member 8 in direction of the arrow D (Fig. 1) so that it (the member 8) leaves the notches of the two plates 2. This is done by rotating column 3 by 90 in direction of the arrow E. At the same time it is possible to rotate the frame I2 in direction of the arrow C into that central plane through column 3 which is perpendicular to the plane in which the column can be lowered and raised. Due to this design the collapsed device fills a small space and is easy to store.
