Other objects of this invention will in part be obvious and impart hereinafter pointed out.
The inventionaccordingly consists. in; the.- teatures of construction, combination. of elements,
and arrangement of parts which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter'described, and of which the scope of application will bei-nzdicatedin thefollowing claims.
the accompanying drawing; in which. is shown various possible illustrativev embodiments of this invention:
Fig. 1' is a side elevational view of a bracket embodyin the invention.
Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Fig. 3 is an end view thereof.
Fig. 4 is a view similar to Fig. 1 but illustrating a modified construction.
Fig. 5 is a top view of the structure shown in Fig. 4.
Fig. 6 is an end view of the structure shown in Fig. 4.
Fig. 7 is a partial cross-sectional view taken on line of Fig. 1.
Referring now in detail to the drawing, l designates a bracket embodying the invention, to support a toilet roll designated by numeral H. The bracket Ill comprises a member l2 made of sheet metal, the same comprisin a base l3, formed with a pair of spaced through openings M to receive screws, nails or other fastening means for attaching the bracket to a wall or other support.
Extending from base 13 at right angles thereto is an arm I6, ofiset as at H, and continuing in the same direction to provide an extension l8 parallel to arm l6. Extension I8 is formed with 4 Claims (Cl. 242-55.2-)r

Attachectto extension I'd-in the mam-- ner "hereinafter described is a U -sIIa'ped spring member 3'52 which comprises a central, transverse: wall 26 contactin the inner surface of extensinn I82. Wall- 26 is formectwitlt a central opening 21 registering with openin 292. It will now be understood that the spring arms 29, 35 enter the opening at one end of the toilet paper roll II and resiliently press against the inner surface of said opening. As the toilet paper roll unwinds, the U-shaped members rotate together with the roll.
In Figs. 4, 5 and 6, there is shown a bracket Illa embodying the invention and illustrating a modified construction thereof. The bracket Illa comprises a wall plate having a central wall portion 5| from the ends of which extend short parallel offset shoulder portions 52. Extending outwardly from walls 52 are aligned base portions 53 parallel to wall 5|. Base portions 53 are each formed with an opening 54 to receive a screw, nail or like fastening means for fastening the bracket Hla to a support. Attached to wall 5| are members 25 and 33, the same as in bracket lfl. Said members 25 and 33 are rotatably attached to member 50 by means of a rivet 40, in
V the same manner as for bracket II].
It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.
As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiments above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying, drawing is to be interpretedasillustrative and not in a limiting sense.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A bracket for supporting a toilet paper roll, comprising a member formed with openings to receive fastening means for attachment to a support, a pair of U-shaped members, each comprising an intermediate portion, and a pair of spring arms, said U-shaped members being rotatably attached to the first member with the intermediate portions contacting said first member crossing one another, the spring arms of each U-shaped member diverging away from the intermediate portion and having inwardly curved fingers at the outer ends thereof.
2; A bracket for supporting a toilet paper roll, comprising a, member formed with openings to receive fastening means for attachment to a support, a pair of U-shaped members, each comprising an intermediate portion, and a pair of spring arms, said U-shaped members being rotatably attached to the first member with the intermediate portions contacting said first member crossing one another, the spring arms of each U-shaped member diverging away from the intermediate portion and having inwardly curved fingers at the outer ends thereof, one intermediate portion having a recessed portion straddling the other intermediate portion.
3. A bracket for supporting a toilet paper roll, comprising a member formed with openings to receive fastening means for attachment to a support, a pair of U-shaped members, each comprising an intermediate portion, and a pair of spring arms, said U-shaped members being rotatably attached to the first member with the intermediate portions contacting said first member crossing one another, the spring arms of each U-shaped member diverging away from the intermediate portion and having inwardly curved fingers at the outer ends thereof, one intermediate portion having a recessed portion straddling the other intermediate portion whereby both said portions are interlocked to prevent relative rotation between them, the attachment of said U-shaped members to said first member being by means of a rivet passing through registering openings in the first member and in said intermediate portions.
4. A toilet paper roll bracket comprising a member having a base, an arm extending at right angles to the base and formed with an offset, and an extension on said offset parallel to the said arm, said base being formed with openings to receive attaching devices for attaching said member to a support, said extension being formed with a through opening, a U-shaped member comprising an intermediate portion contacting said extension, and a pair of spring arms extending from said intermediate portion, said intermediate portion being formed with an opening registering with the opening in said extension, a second U-shaped member in a plane at right angles to the first U'-shaped member and comprising an intermediate portion contacting said extension and having a portion straddling the first intermediate portion whereby said intermediate portions are interlocked to prevent relative rotation between them, a pair of spring arms extending from said second intermediate portion, said second intermediate portion being formed with an opening registering with the openings in the first intermediate portion and in said extension, and a rivet extending through said registering openings to rotatably fasten said U-shaped members to said extension, the spring arms of each U-shaped member diverging away from the intermediate portions and having inwardly curved fingers at the outer ends thereof.
