4 Claims. (Cl. 22S-42)' The present invention has for anrobject a de vice for the mass proi'luction` of the points of collars, the device allowing a rapid and sure production bya simple operation effected by the worker consisting in turning out and forming the point.
It isknown that the collar being stitched, that is'to say the two strips'of vfabric of the collar and the stiifening having been assembled by`a line of stitching eifected on the wrong side of the fabric, it must be turned out on to the, right side. For that purpose, use has been made of devices having piercers, with. which the collar is nipped before turning it inside out. Said de vices have, however, Various inconveniences which are remedied by the device according to thepresent invention.
In the pocket formed by the two strips of fabric forming the point of the collar, nippers are introduced which terminate in two thin and pointed noses. One at least of said noses is held spaced from the other, and means are provided so that, when the noses are engaged up to the bottom of the pocket, the noses can slightly nip the extreme point of the collar which has been previously slightly engaged :between them. It suiiices at this instant, to turn the pocket inside out, then to loosen the noses for the collar to be correctly turned inside out and ready to be finished.
A device will be described hereinafter allowing to eiect this nipping of the point of the collar and turning it out in the minimum of time and by a simple operation.

The device comprises a hollow frame I of angular form; the horizontal portion 2 of which is provided at the desired height for working and in which are secured the nippers 3; said nippers comprise a fixed nose 4 and a nose 5 movable about a fixed pin 6; the portion I 'i of nose 5 located behind said pin is provided with a notch i6 forming two rolling inclines for a roller l mounted at the end of a rod 8. Said rod is pivoted at It on one of the arms of the right angle member 9, the other arm of which is pivoted at II to a vertical rod I2 connected to a control lever or pedal, not shown in the drawing. At.' this moment .the Worker operates the control lever or pedal; the bell crankV lever y9 pushes the rod 8 forwardly; the roller I rolls on the inclines of the notch I6, which has for eiect to rock the portion I'I of the movable nippers about the pin 6 in a counter-clockwise direction to clamp the nose 5 against the nose 4. The point of the collar is therefore firmly gripped between the noses of the nippers, as long as the worker actuates the control; it suices for the latter to grip the pocket I8 and to pull it backwardly for turning the collar inside out. At the end of this operation, the worker ceases to actuate the bell crank lever and the collar is released, the part of the fabric gripped between the noses 4 and 5 forming the point of the collar.
Of course certain details of this device, such as the control of the movable nose, the assemblage of the movable nose or noses, etc. may be modied without departing from the scope of the invention.
The invention is naturally applicable to al1 kinds of collars, cuffs, wrist-bands, etc., it allows the work to be effected rapidly and surely without any risk of deteriorating the articles, the finishing of the points of which is perfect.
I claim:
1. In a device for turning out the points of collars, cuffs and other lingerie articles, the combination of a tapered cone-shaped support, nippers having pointed noses at one end of said support and forming the apex of said cone when the noses are in closed position, one of the noses of said nippers being rigid with said cone and the other being pivotally mounted on said cone and provided with an extension on which is formed a slotted cam, a hollow L-shaped lgoosemeck, one leg of said-goose-neck being secured to the base of said cone-shaped support, a control rod within said cone and said hollow goose-neck, means for moving said rod longitudinally, a roller at one end of said rod, and means for causing said roller to cooperate with said cam slot.l
2. In a device for turning out the points of collars, cuis and other lingerie articles, the combination of a tapered cone-shaped support, nippers having pointed noses at one end of said support and forming the apex of said cone when the noses are in closed position, one of the noses of said nippers being rigid with said cone and the other being pivotally mounted on said cone and provided with an extension on which is formed a slotted cam, a hollow L-shaped gooseneck, one leg of said goose-neck being secured to the base of said cone-shaped support, a control rod slidably mounted in the base of said coneshaped support and projecting into the adjacent hollow leg of said goose-neck, a bell crank mounted in said goose-neck substantially at the point of bending, one leg of said bell crank being pivotally secured to said rod, an operating link connected to the other leg of said bell crank,
said link projecting through the other hollow leg of said goose-neck, a roller at one end of said rod, and means for causing said roller to cooperate with said cam slot.
3. In a device for turning flexible laminated angle-shaped articles having the converging marginal edges thereof secured together by seam lines converging at a point, the combination of a tapered cone support adapted to be inserted intermediate said laminations and between said converging seam lines, nippers carried by one end of said support, said nippers having pointed noses for gripping the article substantially at said point, said noses forming the apex of said cone when the noses are in closed position, a hollow bracket joined to the base of said cone-shaped support, and operating means disposed within said hollow bracket and connected to said nippers for opening and closing the latter.
4. In a device for turning exible laminated angle-shaped articles having two adjacent marginal edges thereof secured together, thereby forming an angle-shaped pocket between the laminations, the combination of a tapered coneshaped'support adapted to be inserted intermediate said larninations and between said secured edges, nippers carried by one end of said support, said nippers having pointed noses for gripping the article at the corner of said pocket, said noses forming the apex of said cone when the noses are in closed position, a hollow bracket joined to the base of said cone-shaped support, the periphery of said bracket being flush with the base of said support at the junction point, and operating means disposed within said hollow bracket and connected to said nippers for opening and closing the latter.
