To all whom. it may concern Be it known that I, ANDREW M. The object of my invention is to produce an easel for the reception of photographs, engravings, cards, &c., at so low a cost of manufacture that they may come into general use where those heretofore made have been excluded by reason of their greater cost. My improved easel is also easily adjusted to pictures or cards of different sizes, and will hold the card secure in a smooth close coil of wire without injury to the card; and to this end it consistsin the employment of a single wire in the manufacture of my invention, in the manner to be hereinafter fully described, and pointed out in the claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is afront View of my invention, and Fig. 2 an end or side View thereof.
In manufacturing my invention wire of a (Model.)
suitable length is taken and bent at the center, as shown at A, Fig. l, to form the back leg or support of the ease], then at B B to give the two front legs or supports.
At 0 (J are formed one or more coilsin which to place the card to be supported, and at D D are formed coils or other devices to give solidity and an ornamental appearance to the easel.
Where it is desired tofuse the easel for holding large photographs or cards, the points B B may be extended by bending the wire at A, and the feet D D by bending the wire at B B, thus forming a wider support for the same. The coils O 0, being made of smooth wire, will receive and discharge the picture to be held without injury thereto, and the spring of the wire will hold it securely in position.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
Asa new article of manufacture, an easel consisting of a single piece of wire having a V-shaped rear portion and a front portion provided with holding-coils and coiled terminals or feet, for the'purpose set forth.
