Description
Jan. 18, 1949. INGER 2,459,514
' NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER Filed May 16; 1945 Ha ward Z5. Fie'ckz'nyer' a Attorneys Patented Jan. 18, 1949 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention relates to a bottle holder and has for an object to provide a holder for a nursing bottle so arranged that it may be supported or suspended on or from a variety of different articles and in various positions as may be required at the moment.
Another object of the invention is to provide a wire or ribbon spring metal bottle holder having a coil within which the bottle is frictionally held.
A further object of the invention is to provide a nursing bottle holder provided with a base and also a triangular supporting member from which the device may be secured by cord or ribbon from a plurality of different points assuring perfect security of suspension.
Other features and advantages will become more readily apparent from the following description and the accompanying illustrative drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my bottle holder,
Figure 2 is an enlarged broken away detail of a base portion of the device, and
Figure 3 is a reduced side elevation of the holder.
In the accompanying drawings as above enumerated and in the following specification, like characters of reference indicate like parts throughout and in which indicates my bottle holder which, as illustrated, is formed of a single piece of spring wire, of sufiicient gage to form a suitable base and sufficiently strong support for a nursing bottle H, when filled.
Starting at the end l2, of the wire, it is first formed into a circular normally horizontal base 13, from the other end 14, of the base the wire is bent upwardly or outwardly at right angles to provide a bracket arm l5, from the arm l5, of which the wire is again bent at right angles and is formed into a normally horizontal triangle H, with its three elbows l6, l8 and 19, to each of which are secured ribbons 20, 2| and 22, the purpose of which will presently be stated.
From the terminal 23, of the said triangle the wire extends under the part l6, and is then returned upon itself over the part 24, to form a combined clamp 25, upon said member 24, and. a spring for its upwardly inclined extension arm 26. From the terminal 21, of the arm 26, the wire is formed into a coil spring 28, of a diameter slightly less than that of the bottle ll, whereby the bottle may be frictionally and securely held by the several convolutions 29, 30, etc. of the spring.
From the foregoing specification it will be obvious that the device may be clamped to a table edge 3i, a crib round or any other like support between the members I3 and H, which form a spring clamp, or it may be hung over any horizontal support adjacent a babys bed, crib or hammock in an automobile or elsewhere. If the support to which the device is to be secured is of a nature that said last clamping means is insufficient for securing'the device, the ribbons or tapes 2t, 2! and 22, may be resorted to for tying the triangle H, to any object for further security. The inclination of arm 26, is such that the bottle I l, will be held so inclined as to keep the nipple 32, filled as long as there is any liquid in the bottle.
From the foregoing it will be apparent that with this baby feeding device, the parent will be saved much time; furthermore, the infant will be trained to depend upon itself and not expect holding and coddling during feeding times.
It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the invention after considering the description in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded as unnecessary.
Minor changes in shape, size and rearrangement of details and parts such as come within the purview of the invention claimed may be resorted to, in actual practice, if desired.
Having now described my invention that which I claim as new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is:
In a device as described a bottle holder and a support therefor formed of a single piece of spring metal, said holder including a pair of spaced flat members of unequal size, the larger member being a triangle and constituting a base, an inclined bottle holding arm extending from one corner of the triangle, a clamp connecting the arm to said corner of the triangle, said clamp forming a resilient support for the arm, a coil spring terminating the upper end of the arm and forming a bottle holder, and cord means whereby the triangle may be secured from a plurality of points thereof.
