NURSING-BOTTLE HOLDER.

Be it known that I, lVILLIAM H. SAUN- DERS, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of the city of blew York, (East Chester, borough of The Bronx) in the county of Bronx and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Nursing- Bottle Holder, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in supports and it pertains more particularly to supports adapted for use in connection with nursing bottles.

It is one of the objects of the present invention to provide an attaching means for a nursing bottle support in which the attaching device is of a resilient nature and capable of use with various articles of furniture, such, for example, as childrens carriages, cribs and the like, in which the parts are of different sizes.

It is a further object of the invention to provide a device of this character in which that element which carries the nursing bottle is capable of adjustment in order that the nursing bottle may be properly positioned.

It is a further object of the invention to provide a nursing bottle clamp which is capable of use with bottles of various sizes.

It is a still further object of the invention to so construct the device that the supporting arm is readily detachable from the sup: porting clamp.

With the above and other objects in view,

Fig. 3 is a view in side elevation of a portion of the device showing in dotted lines the vertical adjustment thereof in one direction.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, the reference character 5 designates a crib, carriage or the like, and the reference character 6 designates a spring clamp, adapted to engage over the edge of the crib or carriage as shown in Figspl and 2. The spring clamp comprises a substantially U-shaped member, one of the legs of which is longer than the other, as more clearly shown in Fig. 1. One of the legs of the U-shaped member .6 is bent backwardly as indicated by the ref Specification of Letters Patent.

erence character 7, in order that a smooth gripping surface may be had for the clamp in its engagement with the crib or carriage. The other leg of the clamp 6 is provided with a stationary socket member 8 in which is formed a socket 9. The reference character 10 designates a supporting arm of rigid material and said arm has one of its ends bent as at 11, to provide a right-angular portion 12. This right-angular portion 12 is adapted to be received within the socket portion 9 of the member 8 in order that the rigid member 10 may be supported in a position at substantially right angles to the leg of the clamp member 6 to which the socket member 8 is attached.

Upon the outer end of the rigid arm 10, is a vertical pin or the like 13, and mounted on said vertical pin 18, is a clamp 14 in the form of a sheet metal member bent backwardly upon itself. At the point where this sheet metal member is bent backwardly upon itself, it is circular in cross sectional form as indicated at 15, in order that it may surround the pin 13 and be mounted thereon for rotary movement. The width of the clamp member 14 is less than the length of the pin 13, and interposed between the lower end of the clamp 14 and the upper face of the rigid arm 10, is a coil spring 16 and a washer 17. By this means sufficient friction is supplied to retard the rotary movement of the clamp 14.

Mounted between the members of the clamp 14, as by means of a screw or the like 18, is a bottle clamp. This bottle clamp 20 comprises a rigid standard 21, by which a circular member of resilient material is carried. This circular member comprises two spring arms 22 adapted to embrace the bottle 23, as more clearly shown in Fig. 1.

The two members comprising the clamp 14 have the upper corners of their free ends bent into engagement one with the other to provide a stop 24 for the rigid standard 21 of the bottle clamp 20, when moved to the extreme position indicated in dotted lines in The operation of the device is as follows:

The spring clamp being suitably secured to the crib or carriage, the right-angular portion 12 of the rigid arm 10 is inserted into the end 9 of the member 8, the bottlesupporting member being attached to the rigid arm 19111 the manner heretofore described. W ith the several parts in this position, it is readily apparent that the clamping member 1a is adjustable in a horizontal plane about the pin 13 and that the bottlesupporting member 20 is adjustable in a vertical plane about the pin 18, thus providing the necessary adjustments for a device of this character.

I claim:

A nursing bottle holder comprising a support in the form of a resilient hooked mem' ber, a socket carried by one end of said support, an arm, a right-angular extension formed on one end of said arm and adapted to bereoeived Within the socket carried by ried upon the free e ndof said arm upon the upper face thereof, a substantially U-shaped member embracing said pin, a spring interposed between said U-shaped member and the arm and surrounding said pin, and a bottle holder in the form of a resilient clamping member pivotally mounted between the legs of the U-shaped member, which e1nbraces the pin.
