What I claim and Patent is:
1. A lock or door fastening of the kind described having at least two mortice bolts fitted within the jamb of a door and interconnected by an axially rotatable rod carrying an abutment member movable by the latch of the door lock to force said mortice bolts into engagement with the door, resilient means being provided to redesire to secureby Letters turn said mortice bolts to the inoperative position when the door latch is withdrawn to open the door.
2. A look or door fastening as claimed in claim 1, wherein the axially rotatable rod carries levers operatively associated with the mortice bolts to move them to the locking position, the mortice bolts being spring loaded for return to the inoperative position.
3. A look or door fastening as claimed in claim 1, wherein the mortice bolts are mounted in a tubular housing of rectangular cross-section secured-to the door jamb, means being provided to limit the relative movement between the mortice bolts and their housing.
