1 Claim.
This invention relates to improvements in swings, and more particularly to a rocker or glider yp of swing.
An object of the invention is to provide an improved rocker swing which will be supported upon a fixed frame formed with spaced dished tracks or rails upon which wheels of a wheelsupported seat frame will be received for reciprocable movement.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved rocker swing which will include a fixed frame having a central foot-engaging platform secured thereto and spaced dished or arcuate tracks or rails along the opposite sides of said frame, together with a wheel-supported frame formed with oppositely disposed facing seats, and said wheels being positioned on said tracks or rails whereby reciprocating movement of the seat-supporting frame will impart a rocking action to said seats.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved wheel-supported rocking glider or swing which will be highly eflicient in operation, and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and produce.
Other objects will appear as the description proceeds.

Figure 1 is a plan View of the improved rocker swing;
Figure 2 is a side elevation of the improved rocker swing showing portions thereof in dotted lines;
Figure 3 is an end view of the improved rocker swing; and
Figure 4 is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 4-4 of Figure 1 and in the direction of the arrows.
Like characters of reference are used throughout the following specification and the accompanying drawings to designate corresponding parts.
In carrying out the invention, there is provided a substantially rectangular shaped fixed supporting frame generally denoted by the reference numeral I and having oppositely disposed side members 2 and interconnected end members 3.
The 'arcuate shaped or dished tracks or rails 4 and 5 are secured by the screws or fastening devices 6 to the inner surfaces of each side member 2 at the opposite ends thereof. The upwardly extending, centrally disposed standards 1 (see Figure 4) are provided with outturned flanges 1 which are secured to the inner surfaces of the side members 2 between the tracks or rails 4 and 5. The top surfaces of the standards 1 support the fixed longitudinally extending foot-engaging platform formed with the side supporting members 9 and interconnected, transversely extending, spaced treads ID. The fastening means used in securing the standards I to the side members 2 may be seen particularly well in Figure 4 wherein the bolts 8 are disclosed, the bolts being conventional in character.
The movable frame is approximately rectangular in shape and of a similar size as the frame I, and is generally denoted by the reference numeral II. The frame ll includes the oppositely extending side members I 2 and interconnected ends 13, and end reinforcing strips I4 secured to the upper surfaces of the side members l2 at their opposite ends.
Seats l5 are disposed on said side members 2 at the opposite ends thereof to face each other, and are secured thereon by means of the metal connecting plates 16 secured to the legs I! of the seats and to the outside surfaces of said side members l2.
Spaced wheels l8 are rotatably mounted on the axles I9 and 20 in the bearings 2| supported in the side members [2, and the wheels are adapted to rest on the arcuate-shaped or dished tracks or rails 4 and 5 secured to the side members 2 of the fixed frame I, whereby, when persons sit in the seats with their feet on the platform disposed between said seats, the frame I l and seats supported thereon may be reciprocated and rocked as the wheels l8 roll back and forth on the tracks or rails 4 and 5, thereby giving a pleasant and restful sensation to the occupants of the rocker swing.
It will be seen that a highly efiicient and enjoyable rocker swing will have been devised which will be relatively inexpensive to manufacture and produce.
While the preferred embodiment of the instant invention has been illustrated and described, it will be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention thereto, as many minor changes in detail of construction may be resorted to without departure from the spirit of the invention.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
A rocker swing comprising a substantially rectangular fixed supporting frame, oppositely extending track rails having arcuate bearing surfaces disposed at the opposite ends of said fixed supporting frame and secured to the inner surfaces thereof, vertical standards having outturned flanges attached to the sides of said fixed supporting frame between said track rails, a substantially rectangular foot engaging platform supported by said vertical standards above said fixed supporting frame, a substantially rectangular seat supporting frame interposed between said fixed supporting frame and said foot engaging platform, said platform having its opposite sides disposed inwardly of said seat supporting frame, seats secured to the opposite ends of said seat supporting frame, transversely aligned axle bearings extending through the sides of said seat supporting frame, axles disposed for rotation in said bearings, and wheels on said axles having rolling engagement with the arcuate bearing surfaces of said track rails.
