SPECIFICATION forming part of LettersPatent No. 242,744, dated June 14, 1881.

My invention con sists in forming in the outer fish-plate, A2, recesses to receive flexible washers D, adjoining which other flexible washers t 15 D D2 are placed upon the common bolt B to be tightened and compressed by a nut, C, havin g a recess, C', encompassing the outer Washer, D2. The central exihle'ring, D', is surrounded by a metallic washer, E, to prevent undue expansion, by which the rings D and D2 might be forced out ot' their sockets.
Having thus described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- As an improvement in nut-locks, the combination ot the recessed plate A2, elastic washers D D D2, recessed nut O, and the ring or washer E, substantially as herein described, for the purpose shown and specified.
