This invention relates to slide loops, the physical combination of a slide adapted to be secured toa strap for longitudinal adjustment thereon,
' and a button loop adapted to be clipped over a button carried by the garment to be thereby supported. In providing a slide for a slide loop, the more limited strap passage above and below an intermediate bar, dividing a rectangular open area of the slide into apai'r of loops in a common plane, the better the grip of the device upon the strap threaded therein, but the more difficult the threading. The invention herein disclosed eliminates such difliculty.
Referring to the accompanying drawing the Figure 1 illustrates a face upright view of the device in one relative axially sliding position of parts; Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view on the line 2-2 of the Figure 1, illustrating in outline an inserted strap; and Figure 3 is a similar crosssectional view, but illustrating in outline a strap in the process of insertion.
With more particular reference to the accompanying drawing, the numeral I designates the upper bar of the wire member A of the device a central portion of which may be flattened in the desired, as at I, the wire member A including the side bars 2 and 3 and the lower bar portions 4 and 5 substantially parallel to the upper bar I, thereby providing a nearly complete rectangular loop 6. In order to conveniently dispose of the out free ends of the bar portions 4 and 5, these ends may be preferably bent axially away from the loop 6 in spaced relation and parallel one to the other as, at 1 and 8.
The other member B of the device is preferably of sheet-material having a perforation therethrough of which the upper portion provides a an elongated strap loop 9 having an upper bar Ill, said upper portion being merged with a lower portion providing a button-receiving loop II and a button-retaining loop II.
I The wire and sheet-material members A and B are assembled by means of a pair of lugs 12 and I2 provided by the sheet-materialin substantial alignment with the upper bar I0 and formed around the side bars 2 and 3, respectively, of the wire member in a manner permitting a relatively sliding movement as between the members, so that the upper bar III sheet-material member B provides a sliding inof the 50 termediate bar to the wire loop 6, thus dividing the loop 6 into a pair of loops in a common plane, the open area of each loop depending upon the position of the bar l0 relative to the loop 6.
In use, the device may be threaded upon a strap S by inserting from the rear of the device an end of the strap S into the wire loop 6 above the sliding bar 10, sufiicient space therefor being obtained by sliding one member relative to the other member so that the bar I0 is thereby carried as far as possible toward thelower bar portions 4 and 5 of the wire member. With the strap thus positioned, the said end is drawn over the bar I0 and returned through the wire loop 6 below the bar In, suflicient space therefor'being obtained by relatively sliding the members A and B so that the bar l0 crowds the strap S at its portion lying between the upper wire bar I and the bar 10. The strap S then being made taut within the device, all strain in an axial direction caused bythe Weight of a garment carrying a button (not illustrated) inserted and retained within the button loops H and II, respectively, will be supported by the binding of the strap S between the bar It) and the wire bar portions 4 and 5.
If desired, the teeth l0 may be omitted upon the bar In, and the lower bar portions 4 and 5 may be made to relatively engage in alignment, one with the other, and butt welded so as to provide a solid frame for the loop 6.

A slide loop comprising a sheet-stock crossbar of a button receiving and retaining device, the cross-bar having a lower central straight edge and a toothed edge upon either side thereof and curved lugs at the extremities of said cross-bar, said curved lugs slidingly supporting therein, in the plane of the sheet-stock cross-bar, wire side bars of an open rectangular loop, said side bars integrally depending at right angles from opposite ends of an upper wire cross-bar, and the lower end of each side bar'extending inwardly toward one another in relatively spaced alignment and member terminating in depending extremities in planes parallel to said side bars, the sheet-stock toothed edges being adapted to engagingly'rest upon said relatively aligned wire portions upon one sliding position of said side bars within said lugs.
