An object of the invention is to provide a card or paper board container, preferably formed:
from a single sheet, with sections or portions of a wall foldable inwardly to subdivide the interior of the container into a plurality of mer chandise receiving cells opento the uppe r face sideofthe container.
Another object is to provide a card or paper board-container of cellular structure when in an erected condition and capable of folding to a fiat or knock-down-position for storage or shipment. l

.Referring to the drawing, the container section, as illustrated in Figure 1, comprises a single sheet blank, cut to a definite outline pattern and scored and slitted to provide apanel l, for the top of the container, an intermediate panel 2, representing the bottom of the container and a third panel 3, extending intermediate of the top and bottom panel in the erected position of the container and-providing a base for the cells or partition walll A pair of side walls l and 5, nally of, and joinrespectively with the relative opposite sides of I the top panel= I ,,the juncture being segmentally scored land slitted lines 6, 6, and along which the sidewalls are bent perpendicularly or atright angles tog the panel when: erected, The side wall 5 attits opposite edge joins withthe bottom panel 2, the juncture be ing defined by I the scored-line 1. Each end wall andits tucking flap connected thereto, at the opposite ends or margins thereof are separated by an inwardly extended notch M, for the protrusion therethrough of the lower short length margin l5, of a relative corner flap 8, for locking the tucking flap in its tucked-in position; as shown in Figure 4, holding the end 1 wall of the container securing in its closed posittion.
The top panel I, is provided with a plurality of relatively transverse and intersecting set of slits l6 and I1, with the setsat determined or uniform intervals apart for the length of the panel. The slit 16, for each set extend cross-wise of and for the full width dimension of the panel and at its opposite ends respectively, centrally joins with the slits l1, segmental of andcoincident with the longitudinal ends of the panel.
The opposite ends of segment slits H, of each set provide terminals for the opposite ends of relative scored lines I9, extending cross wise of the panel and in parallelismwith the central cross slit l6, thereby form a pair of opposing flaps l8, adapted to be turned or folded inward- 3 ly of the containerat right angles to the normal plane of; the panel of which they constitute a part, each pair to form side walls of a 2| of the panel connecting the flaps of adjoining sets, determines the spacing of the cells and provide bridging struts for the top of the conextend longitudi site i side flaps 22, fold laterally from the panel to lie adjacent at relative end of a side wall of the container and sustain the cell base panel from opposite sides in a definite location between the top and bottom panels, the spacing between it and beneath the cells, accessible from the opposite ends and is sealed by the end closure flaps or walls.
In the folded assembly of the blank, the side flaps 22, of the partition or cell base panel 3, are adhesively and permanently secured, respectively with relative side walls 4 and 5 of the container, which permits the container to be folded to a flat collapsed position as shown in Figure 5, with the cell forming flaps lying in plane with the panel of which they compose a part.
The location of the cell base panel determines the depth of the cells and is governed by the distance that it is desired to havethe coins extrude or project above or beyond the plane of the top of the container, for convenience in access in depositing or .withdrawing the coins from the cells, either in a group or individually.
The lower compartment may be utilized for packaging the coins promiscuously or for other classes of merchandise.
The container can be conveniently used as a rack by resting or supporting the same in .a slightly angular or oblique position.
The open side of the container may be sealed bya four-sided closure or cover section, tele-- scopically engaged over the contents holding section and of conventional type of construction,
adapted to be collapsed to a flat position, and as its style of construction forms no part of the present invention, no detail disclosure and description thereof, is made herein. It may also be of tubular orsleeve form characteristic of a slide-on type of cover.
It is within the concept of the present invention to provide the base panel 2, with cell forming flaps, correspondingly with the top panel for multiplying the cell capacity of the container and a suitable structure of cover for sealing both sides.
In the foregoing description and claim, the terms side and end walls are used as convenient expressions for differentially designating the various parts without intent to indicate any dimension characteristics.
Having described my invention, I claim:
7 A cardor paper board container, comprising: a single blank scored for folding and to subdivide the same into three panels, in a consecutive or der in one dimension of the blank and to constitute a top, a bottom and a partition panel for the container, side and end walls for the container in union with the top panel and side and end flaps in union with the partition panel, a relative side wall of the top panel and side flap of the partition panel in union with the bottom panel, the partition panel positioned within the container with the side flaps thereof providing a support therefor and respectively adhesively secured, each to the inner side of a relative side wall of the container, the end flaps connecting respectively with the opposite ends of the partition panel foldable at right angles thereto each, respectively providing an end closure for the compartment formed by said bottom and partition panels and the top panel slitted to provide plural pairs of opposing flaps, the flaps depressible from the plane of the panel inwardly of the container, each pair to form a cell withthe partition panel as a :base for all of the cells.
