t 2 Claims. (Cl. 4-173 This invention relates to a bathtub.

. A primary object is to provide a novel construction whereby water discharged into the tub for flushing or cleaning purposes will flow the 'entire length of the bottom of the tub and over the entire bottom, aiding in loosening dirt or `foreign matter, flushing out the same as well as companying drawing illustrating an operative embodiment.

Referring specifically to the drawing wherein like reference characters designate like or similar parts, a bathtub is shown at u which gen erally may be of any desired shape, size, and materials. are vertical as well as' is one end wall 12. The water is adapted to be supplied to the tub from any suitable source through a pipe !5, under control of a valve 16' which is arranged to discharge into the tub relatively close to the end wall l2. r I

An overfiow outlet l'l is fastened in the vertical wall l2 adjacent the top in communication with a pipe or Conduit -l8 which leads to the sewer or other point of discharge.

It will be noted that the drain fitting IQ is of such character that when desired the usual plugor stopper may be applied to hold water in the tub lfl.

In using the tub, it will be realized, the water is introduced at the Valve IS. When washing or flushing the tub, such water will strike the bottom l4 adjacent the wall 12, and will flow over the entire bottom M, and due to its inclination will drain through the outlet !9 under its own force and the force of gravity. As a result, the flowing water will loosen dirt and foreign matter in the tub and drain the same therefrom as well as it will soapy water and the like, overcoming the necessity of having to force water, as in existing constructions, from adjacent a vertical wall such as l2 toward the other end of the tub, which water thereafter would have to drain toward the Vertical end wall before reaching the drain outlet of the tub.

Various changes may be resorted to provided that they fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
