(No Model.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT B. DIOKEY, OF WAGO, TEXAS.
RECEIPT-BOOK HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 234,001, dated November 2, 1880.
Application filed June 19, 1880. (N0 model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RO ERT B. DIcKEY, of Waco, McLennan county, Texas, have invented a new and Improved Receipt-Book Holder, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a new and improved receipt-book holder which is especially designed for the use of weighers or other persons that must have the receiptbook in a handy and convenient place.
The invention consists in a frame with a projection at the bottom and longitudinally-slotted transverse pieces, as hereinafter described.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a rear perspective elevation of my improved receipt-book holder. Fig. 2 is aside elevation of the same, showing the manner in which it holds the receipt-book and the manner of attaching it to the scales.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The receipt-book holder consists of a rectangular wire or like frame, A, which is provided with two longitudinally slotted transverse pieces, B B, connected by a strip, 0, having a hook or stud, D, on the rear side. The wire of the frame A is bent so as to form a double shoulder or projecting winged flange, E, at the bottom, to form a rest for the lower edge of the cover of the receipt-book F, which is attached to the holder or frame A by passing the back G of thebook, which back is preferably made of stiff pasteboard, through the slots H H of the transverse pieces B B, so that its lower edge rests against the short projections a a of the double shoulder E, as is shown in Fig. 2.
The book is preferably provided with the receipt-blanks J and the duplicate blanks K and a suitable cover, L. The book being held on the frame, the hook or stud D on the back of the same is passed into an aperture in a bracket, M, attached to the scales, which bracket is constructed in such a manner that the book F is inclined-that is, in the most convenient and agreeable position for the weigher. The book is always at hand, can be fully controlled by the weigher, and saves him very much trouble.
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A holder for receipt-books, made substantially as herein shown and described, and consistin g of a frame provided with a projecting part, E, at the bottom and with longitudinallyslotted transverse pieces B B, as set forth.
ROBERT BARBOUR DIOKEY.
