Referring to the drawing, the invention is illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 as embodied in a so-called folding pin ticket. In such tickets the wire staple I having attaching pins 2 is attached at one end of the body portion 3 of the ticket, and a fold line 4 is provided between the portion 3 and the portion 5. The portion 5 is provided with a slot 6 through which the pins 2 are passed after passing through the merchandise. A flap l is then folded over the clinched ends of the pins and is inserted in the slot 8 so that the pins are covered and protected so long as the ticket is attached to the merchandise.
According to the present invention the body portions of the ticket are perforated to provide registering apertures l0 and a slit H is cut from the folded edge to the apertures. Thus, after the ticket is attached to the merchandise, by bending the ticket slightly, the slit may be opened to admit a rod I 2 or other suitable supporting means to the aperture. When the slit is closed again the aperture surrounds the supporting means and suspends the ticket and attached merchandise for display purposes. The ticket may be removed from the supporting means, of course, by reopening the slit.
The invention may also be embodied in the common form of pin ticket illustrated in Figure 3. In this case an aperture [3 is formed in the ticket and a slit I4 is cut from the edge of the ticket to the aperture. The operation of the ticket is the same as before.
It will be understood that the invention may be variously modified and embodied within the scope of the subjoined claim.
I claim as my invention:
A folding pin ticket having a body portion comprising two sections separated by a'fold line, each of said sections having an aperture formed therein spaced equidistantly from said fold line and aligned with respect to said iold line so that said apertures are in register when said sections are in folded position, said sections also having a slit formed therein extendingfrom said fold line into each of said apertures, a wire staple attached to one of said sections adjacent the free end thereof, said staple having attaching pins passing through said other section to hold a piece of merchandise between said sections at the opposite end of the ticket from said apertures, whereby said ticket and attached merchandise may be suspended by engagement of the apertured end of said ticket with a suitable support, and said other section having an end flap folded JAMES B.
