' Inasmuch as the flaps l3 have no projecting portions when they are in closed position, means I are provided to facilitate their movement to open position in order that films may be inserted in and removed from the file. As shown, each end portion of each flap is shaped to provide an extension 21 of approximately triangular configuration with the base of each extension at the upper edge of the flap. Rear sheet I5 is apertured at 28in registry with the extensions Zloto permit a finger to be inserted through the aperture from the rear of the file and to press the flap into open position. A film file having a plane body portion and a plurality of film pockets therein, opposite outer walls of each pocket having apertures in the general form of Greek crosses and in substantial registry and disposed to registersubstantially with a filmplaced in the pocket with its longer dimension substantially parallel to eitheraxis of the Greek cross apertures, to permit the film to be seen while in the pocket, an outer wall of one pocket being integral with an outer wall of at least one other pocket, said last mentioned wall being movable to permit the insertion of film in the pockets'and its removal therefrom.

. 9. A film filehaving a body portion and aplurality of film pockets therein, opposite-outer walls of each pocket having registeringapertures disposedto register with afilm placed in the pocket,

A film file having a body portion and a film pocket therein, opposite outer walls of the pocket having registering apertures shaped and disposed to register with a film placed in the pocket in either a horizontal or a vertical position to permit the film to be seen while in the pocket in either of said positions, one of the outer walls of the pocket being hingedly movable with respect to the body portion and otherwise free of attachment'thereto to permit the insertion of film in the pocket and its withdrawal therefrom, the-movable wall having a snug fit with the body portion when in closed being integral with an outer wall of another pocket and being hingedly movable with respect to thebody portion and otherwise freeof attachment thereto to permit the insertion of film in the pockets and its removal therefrom, said outer wall having an. extension projecting from'the edge opposite the edge about which it is hingedly movable and provided with oppositely inclined sides, and said body. portion having a recess shaped similarly to said extension and of a size to receive said extension snugly and to aid in retaining said wall in closed position.

A film file having a body portion and a film pocket therein, opposite outer walls of the pocket having registering apertures disposed to register with a film placed in the pocket to permit the film to beseen while in the pocket, one of the outer walls of the pocket being hingedly movable with respect to the'body portion and otherwise free of attachment thereto to permit the insertion of film in' the pocket and its withdrawal therefrom, the movable Wall having an extension projecting from the edge opposite the edge about which it is hingedly movable, the side walls of the extension being inclined in opposite directions, and said body portion having a recess shaped similarly to said extension and of a size to receive said extension snugly and to aid in retaining said wall in closed position.
